Viewers will soon see two of Britain’s most famous actors together in Frauds – a brand new ITV thriller. The show is inspired by classic heist movies and is filmed against the beautiful scenery of Spain.
I’m so excited to see Suranne Jones (who was amazing in *Hostage*) and Jodie Whittaker (I loved her in *Toxic Town*) playing Bert and Sam! They used to be partners in crime, but things went south on a job and Bert ended up in prison for ten years, causing a huge rift between them. It’s going to be fascinating to see how their relationship unfolds!
I was so thrilled when Bert got out! It was amazing to see him and Ernie back together, and they immediately started planning one final job. But things didn’t go smoothly, of course. They faced a ton of problems – really smart detectives were on their tail, they owed money to some seriously scary loan sharks, and to top it all off, Bert was dealing with some major health issues. It was a real struggle to see if they could pull it off, with all those obstacles in their way. Honestly, it was a nail-biter!
Frauds features a diverse group of actors from the UK and Spain, including stars you may recognize from shows like Bookish, Baptiste, and Harlots. This exciting story is a fast-paced, dramatic thriller.
Here’s a look at the cast of Frauds, including details about who plays each character and where you might have seen them before, as this darkly funny drama begins on ITV1 and ITVX.

Suranne Jones as Bert

Who is Bert? Bert is a seasoned criminal who used to work with Sam on various heists. After a failed operation, she was sent to prison for ten years, but was later released because she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now, she’s planning one final, ambitious robbery – a heist that could make her famous and also secure Sam’s future.
What else has Suranne Jones been in? Suranne Jones has had a very active year, appearing in the Netflix thriller Hostage, the BBC romantic drama Film Club, and Frauds, all released close together. She’s also known for her roles in Scott & Bailey, Doctor Foster, Gentleman Jack, and Vigil, which is currently filming its third season.
Jodie Whittaker as Sam

Who is Sam? I’ve always been fascinated by Sam. She’s Bert’s former best friend, but they grew apart after he went to prison. She really wanted to leave their past behind and live a peaceful, simple life, mostly keeping to herself. But even after all this time, she still has one big goal: finding the daughter she gave up for adoption when she was born – a daughter who’s now all grown up.
What else has Jodie Whittaker been in? Whittaker is famous for being the first woman to play the lead role in the BBC’s popular sci-fi series, Doctor Who. She played the Thirteenth Doctor for five years, traveling in the TARDIS. Before that, many viewers recognized her from the mystery show Broadchurch, the medical drama Trust Me, and the comedy horror movie Attack the Block.
You might have recently seen her in the second season of the prison drama Time, or the impactful documentary series Toxic Town, which tells the story of mothers in Corby and their struggle for fairness.
Talisa Garcia as Miss Take

I’ve been hearing a lot about Miss Take, and she sounds fascinating! She’s a drag performer who actually runs a bar in Malaga. Apparently, she took Bert under her wing when he was going through a rough patch, and she’s even been mixed up in some of his past… let’s just say, questionable activities. She seems like a real character!
What other projects is Talisa Garcia known for? Garcia previously appeared as Kim Vogel in season one of the BBC’s Baptiste, and later played Queen Arianna in the Willow reboot on Disney Plus.
Karan Gill as Bilal

Who is Bilal? Bilal is a highly skilled painter and forger who joins Bert and Sam’s team for an important heist. However, he’s secretly in debt to some very dangerous people who are actively trying to find him.
What else has Karan Gill been in? As a film enthusiast, I’ve been following Karan Gill’s work and he’s been in quite a few interesting projects! You probably know him from Michaela Coel’s amazing series I May Destroy You, but he also starred in the Sky thriller COBRA, the prison drama Screw, and the BBC comedy Ladhood. Recently, I spotted him in Netflix’s The Decameron – he played Panfilo – and he was also great as Krish in the Paramount Plus romcom The Road Trip.
Elizabeth Berrington as Jackie Diamond

Who is Jackie? She used to work with Bert and Sam, and now she owns and performs at a club with her partner, Craig. They do a magic show together, but after a long time of not paying attention to each other, their relationship is failing, and she wants to find a way to end it.
What else has Elizabeth Berrington been in? Elizabeth Berrington is a very busy character actress, and you’ve likely seen her work recently. She’s recently appeared in Bookish on UKTV, Virdee on BBC One, Ridley on ITV, and the moving miniseries Lost Boys and Fairies. You might also remember her from roles in popular shows like Good Omens, The Nevers, Psychoville, and the original UK version of The Office.
Abdul Salis as Mateo

Who is Mateo? Mateo is another figure from Bert’s past, who runs the drag club with Miss Take.
What other projects has Abdul Salis appeared in? Abdul Salis is known for his roles as Eamon Valda in the Prime Video fantasy series The Wheel of Time, and as Sebastian in Catherine Tate’s comedy Hard Cell. He’s also been in Beyond Paradise, the movie F1: The Movie, and voiced the character Chigaru in last year’s Mufasa: The Lion King.
Lee Boardman as Craig aka The Great Diavolo

Who is Craig? Craig is a magician known as The Great Diavolo, and he’s been performing with his assistant, Jackie, for many years.
What other projects has Lee Boardman appeared in? He’s recently worked on the ITV drama Bancroft, the Dawn French series The Trouble with Maggie Cole, the Star Wars spin-off Andor, and the Netflix film Enola Holmes 2.
Christian Cooke as Deegs

Who is Deegs? Deegs is a gangster and loan shark, whom Bilal is indebted to.
What other projects has Christian Cooke appeared in? In 2023, Cooke portrayed chess grandmaster Gary Kasparov in the Disney Plus limited series Rematch, which details his famous competition against IBM’s early efforts in artificial intelligence. He’s also known for his roles in the western drama That Dirty Black Bag and the Agatha Christie adaptation Ordeal by Innocence.
Thais Martin as Caitlin

Who is Caitlin? Caitlin is Sam’s long-lost daughter.
What else has Thais Martin been in? Frauds marks her screen debut.
Kate Fleetwood as Celine

Who is Celine? Celine is a very important client of Bert and Sam. She hires them for a difficult assignment, promising a substantial reward – enough to change their lives – if they succeed.
What else has Kate Fleetwood been in? Fleetwood is well-recognized for her work in historical dramas like Harlots and Victoria. More recently, she’s been seen in Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga and Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time. Her film credits include appearances in Philomena, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and Choose or Die.
Javier Taboada as Blas

Who is Blas? Blas is a prison guard, who had a relationship with Bert while she was incarcerated.
What other projects has Javier Taboada worked on? Javier Taboada recently played the role of Rodo in AMC’s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
