A free-to-play role-playing game is being removed from Steam and will no longer be available for purchase. The game launched on January 21, 2025, and is shutting down after just one year, which isn’t unexpected given its low player base. You can still play the game if you already have it, or download it to try before March 12th. After that date, it will be permanently unavailable.
The free-to-play mobile RPG King Arthur: Legends Rise, developed by Kabam and Netmarble and based on the stories of King Arthur, will stop functioning on March 12th. Because it requires an internet connection to play, once the game’s servers are turned off, it will no longer be possible to play. While the developers haven’t explained why, they announced that it’s become unsustainable to continue supporting the game.
Official Statement on the RPG’s Shutdown
We’re very sorry to share the unexpected news that we’re shutting down. Your incredible support has kept our service going this long, and we’re truly grateful. After careful consideration, we’ve made the tough decision that we can no longer continue providing it. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this amazing experience in Britain.
Free-to-Play RPG Released in 2025
Though King Arthur: Legends Rise came out on Steam just last year, it’s being taken off sale relatively quickly. This is becoming more common with online games – there are simply more of them launching, and unfortunately, more failing, than ever before.
Currently, King Arthur: Legends Rise has a “Mixed” rating on Steam, with only 61% of 777 player reviews being positive. However, the low peak of 65 concurrent players in the last 24 hours is even more concerning. This is particularly disappointing because the game is free to play, meaning anyone can download it, and relies on players enjoying it enough to make purchases within the game.
