Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has finished, completing the Divine Revolte Arc. This season follows Frieren and her companions as they travel through the Northern lands, facing one challenge after another. With just ten episodes, the season covered the Continued Northern Travels and Divine Revolte storylines. Good news for fans – a third season has been confirmed, and more details are coming soon! Recently, the anime had a presence at AnimeJapan 2026, a large annual convention held in Tokyo on March 28th and 29th, where exciting announcements about upcoming anime and films are typically made.
The panel for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End didn’t share any big plot reveals, but the voice actors did attend and talk about the new season. A highlight was a surprise appearance by Shinichiro Miki, who voices Revolte. Miki is a well-known voice actor with famous roles like Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Keisuke Urahara in Bleach. He spoke about his work on the second season and how the challenging battle scenes really made the Divine Revolte Arc stand out.
Revolte’s Voice Actor Discusses The Action in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2

I recently read an interview with Kimi over on Mantan Web, and it was really insightful! He talked about how he felt when he was offered the role of Revolte, and honestly, I totally related! He admitted he was scared – can you imagine taking on a role in such a beloved series? He was thrilled to be considered, of course, but also really felt the pressure and was nervous about doing the character justice and fully immersing himself in that world. It was cool to see such honesty!
The voice actor explained that working on the anime involved subtleties in timing that weren’t apparent when just reading the script. Often, scenes relied on very little dialogue, leaving a lot to the imagination, and you never knew when incredible action would happen. He said this feeling of anticipation helped him deliver a great performance in the recording studio.
I was really interested to hear him talk about the action sequences and how he built up the feeling of danger. He explained that filming those scenes was incredibly intense – it felt like any mistake, any single hit, could be fatal. He really tried to convey that desperation in his performance, like his character was just barely holding on for dear life.
Revolte is a standout character from the anime’s second season and proved to be the most dangerous enemy Frieren and her companions encountered. The story starts with them taking on a job to defeat a demon that had ravaged a small village on the Northern Plateau, and as they investigate, they uncover the true extent of this ancient being’s power.
What’s Next For Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Fans

Season 3 of the anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2027, adapting the ‘Golden Land Arc.’ The official website revealed the release timeframe and a first glimpse of Mahat of the Golden City, a key character in the new season. The story will follow Frieren’s group as they travel to a land transformed into gold, where they’ll meet an old acquaintance from the Mage Exam and team up to overcome a powerful Sage of Destruction.
I noticed the manga stopped releasing new chapters back in October 2025, and there haven’t been any announcements about when it might come back. It seems the creators, writer Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe, needed to take a break due to health issues.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster with the series lately! We had another break starting in 2025 – the second one this year, actually. It came after a short return in July following the initial announcement back in January. The good news is, the creators are prioritizing their well-being and working on the story at a comfortable pace. This break is really just to help them get things organized, and they’re aiming to be back with new chapters in a few months, which I’m really excited about!
