Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is currently being released, and the most recent episode has finished a smaller story arc and apparently defeated the season’s big bad guy. Now, fans are wondering what will happen for the rest of the season. So far, this season has been about Frieren and her companions slowly traveling towards the Northern Plateau, with a mix of smaller adventures along the way. We’ve even seen some fun, lighter scenes, like Stark and Fern going on a date, mixed with foreshadowing of the challenges ahead. For the first half of the season, the story has mainly been a series of self-contained episodes, with occasional action sequences.
The series has recently become much more exciting. Over the last three episodes, the story picked up as new characters, Methode and Genau, appeared while the powerful demon, General Revolte, threatened a village. The heroes had a clear mission: defeat Revolte. The latest episode showed this battle with impressive animation, bringing the arc to a thrilling conclusion with higher stakes. Stark and Genau fought the main villain, while Fern and Methode dealt with the other demons. Now that this major storyline is finished, it’s pretty clear what the rest of the season will focus on.
Frieren Season 2 Likely To Continue Its Slow Tone For the Remainder

The current season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will have 10 episodes, primarily showcasing the relaxed travels of Frieren and her companions as they head towards Aureole. Even the recent storyline with the demon Revolte, which focused on the heroes like Genau, still prioritized exploring characters and their growth. Following a fantastic finale with impressive action by Madhouse, the series will likely return to its more peaceful pace, as suggested by the preview for the next episode.
The next episode, titled “Himmel’s Memoirs,” seems to be a return to the show’s earlier style of telling self-contained stories. A short preview hints at two separate storylines: the group taking on a new quest, possibly involving dragons, and a look back at Himmel’s memories. This suggests the episode will be split into two parts, much like many episodes earlier in the season. Throughout the season, the anime has adapted the slower-paced stories from the manga, with the animation studio Madhouse skillfully bringing each moment to life. It’s likely the season will end with another standalone episode, leaving viewers with a cliffhanger that sets up a potential third season and the chance to explore bigger storylines in the Frieren anime.
