The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 16th at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. It will be available in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India, at the same time as its release in Japan. You can watch the episodes with English subtitles, and an English dub is planned for release this winter, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet.
Several key staff members are returning for the new season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, including Tomohiro Suzuki as series composer and Evan Call composing the music. However, there are also some changes: Tomoya Kitagawa will direct Season 2 at Madhouse, replacing Keiichiro Saito. Keisuke Kojima and Yuri Fujinaka will take over character design duties from Reiko Nagasawa.
Why Is Frieren Season 2 Such a Big Deal?
The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is highly anticipated, largely due to the success of its first season. While the initial episodes started slowly, the series gained a dedicated following as it developed its rich magical world and introduced a compelling cast of characters. Combined with the high-quality animation from studio Madhouse, it’s easy to see why the show became so popular.
The official manga for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is on hold because the creators need to focus on their health, meaning the new anime is the first fresh content fans have received in a while. Given how strong the start of the year has been for anime already, this release could be what really kicks things into high gear.
