From season 3 star shares chilling reaction to episode 5’s brutal death

As a long-time resident of Fromland, I can’t help but feel the weight of each passing tragedy that befalls our small town. The latest loss, Dale, has left me shaken and saddened. This was not the death by the hands of monsters we have grown accustomed to, but a fate more sinister – one that reminds us of the ever-present dangers lurking within our very surroundings.

Warning: Spoilers for From season 3 episode 5 ahead.

In the third season, a character has passed away, with Dale (portrayed by Cliff Saunders) being the most recent fatality in episode 5.

In Season 3, the citizens of Fromland encountered new terrors, including Boyd’s visions and Fatima’s demonic child, but it was unforeseen how Tabitha’s comeback would lead to one of the bloodiest deaths we’ve witnessed up until now.

In episode 5’s town gathering, Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) reminisces about being mysteriously teleported from the distant tree to the lighthouse (following her fall from the lighthouse and subsequent return to Maine) at the conclusion of season 2.

Despite the cautions about the tree’s erratic nature, Dale chose to explore it himself. Unfortunately, his actions led him not to the tree, but rather into the solid wall of the motel swimming pool. The scene that follows is harrowing; we see only Dale’s face and body protruding from the concrete, a grim reminder of the tragedy that ensued as he was fatally crushed and suffocated.

We lost one of our own tonight, and it wasn’t at the monsters hands. #Ripdale#FROM @FROMonMGM

In response to his passing, Harold Perrineau, portraying Boyd, expressed on platform X: “Tonight, we’ve lost one of our own, and it wasn’t due to the actions of the monsters.

In the beginning of the show, I mentioned that I’d have to shut my eyes for the rest. Catch you later, mate! #FROMily Sorry Dale.

According to Perrineau’s observation, Dale’s demise becomes even more heart-wrenching when we realize it wasn’t due to the supernatural entities that have been terrorizing the town since season 1. What adds to the eeriness is contemplating the numerous perils that anyone encountering while attempting to depart from this town may face.

He said: “There was crying and figuring things out and fear and nightmares, just so that I could make sure that Boyd looks like he’s going through what he’s going through. You know what I mean? Just to give it that little bit of authenticity. So yeah, I live with it a little bit.”
