Bob Saget is being remembered by his Full House costars.
Four years after comedian Bob Saget sadly passed away in January 2022, his former co-stars from the ABC sitcom Full House – including John Stamos and Candice Cameron Bure – are celebrating his life and legacy.
John, 62, shared a heartfelt tribute to Bob on Instagram, posting a collection of their favorite photos together. He described the feeling of Bob’s absence as a lingering silence – like the echo of laughter that’s faded away, leaving a deep emptiness.
He shared, “The ache of missing someone is like love with no outlet—it just stays with you, a constant hope that they’ll return and bring the joy back. It’s been four years, and I still can’t believe it. I miss you, Bob.”
A nostalgic photo shows John, known for his role as Jessie Katsopolis on Full House, and Bob posing with cigars. Another picture captures them happily enjoying a day at the beach.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the tributes to Bob Saget, and it’s truly touching to see how many people he impacted. John Stamos isn’t alone in remembering him – David Coulier also recently shared his heartfelt memories of learning about Bob’s passing. It just shows how deeply loved and respected he was by his friends and colleagues.
David shared on Instagram that four years ago today, John Stamos called him with the heartbreaking news of Bob Saget’s death. He said he was so shocked and upset he could only cry.

Oh my gosh, it still feels unreal. Bob… my Bob… he had three amazing daughters – Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer – with his first wife, Sherri Kramer. Then he found happiness again with Kelly Rizzo, and they were married in 2018. But then… everything changed. He passed away on January 9th, 2022, at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando – a terrible fall, they said, with a head injury. David, a close friend, kept saying his life just wasn’t the same after that, and honestly, none of our lives were. It was just… devastating.
He explained that it suddenly hit him how much he’d miss Bob’s long, hilarious voicemails that always brightened his day. He also realized they wouldn’t get to share those moments of uproarious laughter with Bob and John, like when they’d pretend to be The Three Stooges and end up laughing so hard they had to leave the room.
It’s been four years since my brother passed away, and I still often reach for my phone wanting to share something with him – a funny story, or just to tell him I love him. We had a really playful, silly, and loving relationship.
In the heartbreaking tribute, he also noted that there’s quite literally no one like Bob.
He shared that Bob was one-of-a-kind and had given him wonderful memories that he’d cherish forever. He admitted that simply saying he missed Bob didn’t begin to express how he felt, and that Bob would have wanted him to tell everyone how much he loved him. He finished with a heartfelt, ‘I love you, Bob.’

Candace, who starred as Bob’s daughter D.J. Tanner on both the original show and the Netflix sequel Fuller House, also posted many old photos to honor the actor.
She shared a social media post on January 9th saying, “I miss you,” along with a white heart and a dove emoji, adding that her feelings weren’t limited to just that day – she missed them every day.
Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on the show, also spoke about Bob’s death.
She shared on Instagram on January 9th that it feels surreal to live in a world where she can only remember Bob’s voice. She noted she never expected him to be so silent, even after his passing, and hopes he knows how much they still talk about him and how deeply he was loved, every single day. The post also honored her late mother.
She explained that grief is simply the natural result of having loved deeply, and she feels grateful for the memories of those she’s lost, even while carrying that sadness with her each day.
For a look back on some of Bob’s most memorable roles, read on…

I’ll never forget watching Bob Saget as Danny Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995! The show was so heartwarming – he played this widowed dad, and when his brother-in-law, Jesse (played by John Stamos), and his best friend, Joey (Dave Coulier), moved in to help, it was just perfect. They all worked together to raise Danny’s three daughters: D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and the adorable twins, Michelle (Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen). It was a classic!
When the news of Saget’s passing was announced, John Stamos shared his grief on Twitter. He wrote that he was heartbroken, devastated, and completely shocked, adding that he would never find a friend like Saget again and expressing his deep love for him.

I was so incredibly saddened to hear about Bob Saget’s passing. As a longtime viewer, I’ll always remember him as the warm and funny host of America’s Funniest Home Videos – he really made that show special from 1989 to 1997. The show’s official Twitter account shared a lovely tribute, and my heart goes out to his family and friends right now.

Besides playing Danny Tanner, Saget also portrayed Matt Stewart, a widowed father, in a show from 2001 to 2002. Matt raises his daughters, Sarah (played by Kat Dennings) and Emily (played by Brie Larson), with help from his father (Jerry Adler) and works as a teacher at Sarah’s high school.
Dennings shared on Instagram that she was devastated by the news of Bob Saget’s passing. She described him as a truly wonderful person – kind, generous, and incredibly caring. He was like a father figure to her during their one season working together, and often spoke lovingly about his own children. She ended her post with a message of rest in peace.

Between 2005 and 2014, Bob Saget narrated the TV show How I Met Your Mother. He also provided the voice for the future version of Josh Radnor’s character, Ted Mosby.
You know, I always loved hearing Bob Saget talk about ‘Full House.’ He once told Larry King it was a really special experience for him, and he actually got the offer while he was performing in a play in New York! He said being a part of it was just a beautiful thing.
I reacted right away when I realized it was a love letter. It was about a romantic relationship, and it’s incredible to me that people still enjoy the show. I always tell them it’s really their show, because the talented actors are the ones who made it a success.

Although Bob Saget wasn’t a series regular, he appeared in a few episodes of Entourage over the years – in 2005, 2009, 2010, and even the 2015 movie. He also had small roles on other shows, like a 2018 episode of Shameless.

Bob Saget starred as Steve Patterson in the 2009 sitcom Surviving Suburbia. The show centered on Steve, his wife Anne (played by Cynthia Stevenson), and their kids, Henry (Jared Kusnitz) and Courtney (Genevieve Hannelius), and how they interacted with their neighbors.

Throughout his career, Bob Saget performed several stand-up comedy specials, including “Bob Saget: Zero to Sixty” (2017) and “Bob Saget: That Ain’t Right” (2007). His 2013 special, “Bob Saget: That’s What I’m Talkin’ About,” earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.

Bob Saget returned to his famous role as Danny Tanner in the 2016 Netflix series Fuller House. The show centered around D.J., now a grown woman and a recent widow, as she navigated motherhood with the help of her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy (played by Andrea Barber). Fuller House ran until 2020.
Candace Cameron Bure shared her grief on Twitter, saying she was speechless after hearing the news. She described Bob as one of the kindest people she’d ever met and expressed her deep love for him.
