The Total War games are well-known for their in-depth strategy, but they’ve historically been designed primarily for PC players.
Things are expected to change with upcoming games. During a celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, Creative Assembly, the British studio behind Total War, strongly hinted at a new approach. They stated that their new game engine, called Warcore, should finally let them release games on consoles in the future.
For the first time in the Total War series, the new Warcore engine will allow games to launch on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles, bringing the series’ large-scale battles and strategic gameplay to a wider audience.
Creative Assembly hasn’t officially said anything about a PlayStation 5 version yet, but it seems likely it’s coming eventually – though it could be quite a while, possibly even waiting for the PS6.
As a huge Total War fan, I’m so excited to finally see the series come to PlayStation! The games are generally split between historical settings and the Warhammer universe, and honestly, both types are incredibly popular with strategy gamers. It’s awesome that PlayStation users will now get to experience everything Total War has to offer.
Been waiting for this, huh? Now it’s time to share your thoughts – let’s see those comments!
