Gabourey Sidibe’s Blissful Life with Brandon Frankel and Twins Unveiled

If someone had asked Gabourey Sidibe about her love life seven years ago, ‘Precious’ wouldn’t have been among the initial words she might have used to describe it.

She told Brides in 2022, “I’ve always yearned for a companion in my life, and yet, I never knew his appearance or personality.

Or if he even existed, to be fully real. 

Instead of seeing herself with past romantic partners in the future, she confessed that she found it hard to picture dating someone whom she truly appreciated, saying, “I couldn’t conceive of going out with someone I genuinely liked.

Later, she chose to match with Brandon Frankel, a talent agent, who was the sole individual she agreed to meet from Raya. Their initial encounter turned out to be an extended, approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes long date.

She concluded with a smile, expressing her delight at having underestimated the direction her life would take in terms of partnerships. She acknowledged that Frankel is truly remarkable and exceptional as a partner.

Despite feeling a strong attraction during their first date, the 41-year-old found herself needing to push herself towards loving this person.

She shared with Brides that she has a strong tendency toward ‘fight-or-flight’ responses. In the early stages of our relationship, she admitted to being rather cautious and feeling quite anxious frequently.

Frankel, meanwhile, was putting them all on the table. 

Back in March 2019, fate brought us together, and three months later, she led me to a tarot reader in the mystical city of New Orleans who foretold a life filled with marriage and children for me. As I read this prediction on her Instagram post from March 2025, my heart raced, and I thought, “Oh no!” You see, his destiny was intertwined with mine, and I just knew it deep down. I fretted over whether I was truly mature enough to embrace the responsibilities of a wife and mother. Yet, he remained as calm as ever, showing no signs of apprehension at all.

Two months following that accurate and courageous forecast, Frankel inscribed a tiny ‘g’ on his ring finger. Approximately a year later, he started crafting the actress’ ideal round brilliant diamond and a heartfelt home proposal involving rose petals, balloons, and their two cats.

On March 12, 2021, they secretly wed. 

After crossing “fall in love” and “get married” off their list of achievements, the next logical progression led them to the acquisition of a double stroller – a symbol of the new addition to their family.

Sidibe shared with TopMob News during an exclusive interview prior to the April premiere of her Lifetime movie “Give Me Back My Daughter”, that they are similar to tiny cartoons. She explained how they began walking and toddling, making her laugh. They seem to be learning words, demonstrating a remarkable intelligence. Sidibe confessed she is utterly captivated by them, expressing genuine fascination.

At that moment, the 13-month-old toddlers had taken a few steps, however, they are now walking with great assurance, she noted. “My daughter is currently dashing to and fro, it’s incredibly adorable,” she commented.

And it appears the two are sprinting toward a bright future. 

According to Sidibe, Maya has mastered gestures like waving and blowing kisses. However, he shared with TopMob an unexpected talent: “My son can sing,” he said. It’s quite astonishing – a baby so young, practicing vocal exercises as if on a scale.

The siblings have been in perfect harmony practically since birth. 

According to Sidibe, by the age of two months, his daughter had already become aware of her brother, and at three months, they began holding hands whenever they were close to each other. This rapid development of their relationship was particularly touching to observe, as it started off very strongly and beautifully.

As a devoted follower, I wouldn’t dare claim they’re identical twins. Though they both possess a quirky demeanor, as pointed out by Sidibe, and enjoy the playful act of high-fiving each other in front of mirrors, there’s a distinct difference between the two. My son, much like an unpredictable cannonball, is always on the move, diving here and there without much planning. On the other hand, my daughter is more measured. She takes her time to get her balance before she takes a step. It’s not that one rushes into things while the other ponders; it’s more about their unique approaches to life.

It’s a trait he may have picked up from Dad. 

In her 2025 anniversary post, Sidibe acknowledged that Frankel has been rapidly approaching her since their meeting in March 2019. She expressed that if she had known earlier what a remarkable partner he would become, she would have stayed put and allowed him to reach her more quickly.

In challenging times, when they’re going through the tougher aspects of their promises, he’s providing support, a fact that Sidibe acknowledged. On the brightest days, however, he’s helping me rise higher.

Which is why if she could go back and do it all over, she’d speed up the process. 

In a future encounter, let’s plan to have children while still young, so that our joints will be less troublesome as we enjoy playing with them, she playfully suggested on her Instagram post.
