Gabrielle Union is looking back on countless memories with Dwyane Wade.

To celebrate the 11th anniversary of her marriage to the Miami Heat star, the actress from “Bring It On” posted a collection of videos spanning every year of their relationship, starting from their wedding in 2014.

When Dwyane Wade and his partner began dating in 2009, his family didn’t instantly accept the relationship right away. In particular, his elder sister, Tragil, harbored some reservations due to the fact that Gabrielle was nine years older than him.

Gabrielle shared during their August 20 interview on Michelle Obama’s podcast that when she initially encountered his family, his older sisters who were around her age quickly became friendly with her. She added, “We get along well in our neighborhood, but Tragil is different because she has always played the role of protector…She’s been like a guardian to keep him focused and on track, ensuring he doesn’t face any unwanted interference.

Beyond his protective older sister, Dwyane’s mom Jolinda also had some suspicions of her own.

In her recollection, she said something along the lines of, “Well, you know, we’ve both recently gone through a divorce, finding ourselves in similar circumstances. Unlike you, I didn’t have a child at 20 and I’m not eager to start a family right away, so I consider myself independent. I manage my finances independently too, being the owner of my own bank account. I just fancy him, let’s see where this develops.
