Marvel’s newest Avengers story features Terrax, one of Galactus’s most dangerous and ruthless enforcers. Fans will recognize ‘Terrax the Tamer’ as a powerful villain, and this time, he’s facing an opponent that even Galactus considers a threat.
When the Silver Surfer rebelled against Galactus and joined forces with the Fantastic Four to defend Earth, Galactus tried to find new servants, known as heralds, to replace him. The most fearsome of these was Terrax, a ruthless warrior selected specifically because he felt no compassion. Empowered with the Power Cosmic, Terrax could manipulate stone and earth, and he carried a devastating cosmic axe.
Galactus’ Dark Herald TERRAX Appears in Avengers: Strange Tails
Even though Terrax is known as a powerful and intimidating villain in Marvel comics, he’s not often featured in movies and shows. That’s why fans of the Avengers will be excited to see him appear in the new animated adventure, Lego Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails, which is now available to stream on Disney+.
Terrax unexpectedly shows up as a group of villains are being attacked – by Santa Claus! He’s decided to personally cross everyone off his naughty list all at once.
This Lego version of Terrax closely matches his original comic book appearance, featuring his rocky skin, large shoulder pads, and rugged beard. While his massive cosmic axe is missing, the scene of Santa defeating him isn’t shown either, making him unique among the villains.
Terrax is definitely a villain worthy of Santa’s naughty list – he’s one of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy. He was even too unstable for the powerful Galactus, who abandoned him, leading to conflicts with teams like the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Illuminati. Terrax also significantly contributed to the events leading up to the 2015 Secret Wars, joining Thanos’s group of planet-destroyers, known as the Cabal.
Santa Just Beat Up Marvel’s Biggest Villains… And Still Isn’t Powerful Enough to Match Canon
It might sound strange to imagine Santa Claus fighting a Marvel villain, but it actually fits with how powerful he is in Marvel comics. According to Marvel lore, Santa isn’t just a jolly gift-giver – he was created from a huge amount of magical energy, making him nearly all-powerful. There’s even a theory that there could be another Santa – a powerful mutant with the ability to change reality who became Father Christmas.
Regardless of the complete story, Marvel has established that Santa Claus is an Omega-level mutant, meaning he possesses the same incredibly powerful abilities as characters like the Phoenix and Magneto (who makes a brief appearance in Strange Tails, teaming up with his villainous Brotherhood to fight the Avengers).
I truly believe Santa Claus could walk into a room full of Marvel’s biggest baddies – Thanos, Terrax, the whole lot – and actually survive. He’s basically a superhero himself, and honestly, the Avengers should seriously consider getting him on their team! It’s just one more reason why you absolutely need to check out Lego Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails – it’s amazing!
