Push Square’s Game of the Month for September 2025 is Silent Hill F.

As we noted in our previous article, September saw a lot of great new games come out for the PS5. While many strong titles received votes, Konami’s newest survival horror game was clearly the most popular.

We received over 1,350 votes across 18 games! Here are the top five, as chosen by you:

  1. Silent Hill F – 356 votes (26%)
  2. Hollow Knight: Silksong – 302 votes (22%)
  3. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter – 138 votes (10%)
  4. Borderlands 4 – 97 votes (7%)
  5. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles – 91 votes (7%)

Okay, so Silent Hill F didn’t exactly blow everyone away, review-wise. Most critics liked it, but it wasn’t a perfect score kind of game, you know? It was solid, but not mind-blowing.

Honestly, people are *really* into this game, and it’s awesome! The atmosphere is super memorable and it’s consistently creepy, which has quickly made it a fan favorite – and it’s always cool to see a game connect with players like that.

We described it as a “a bold new chapter in the Silent Hill saga” in our Silent Hill F PS5 review.

“Accept it for what it is, and you’ll find one of PS5’s most intense experiences,” we concluded.

September was an incredibly busy month for new PlayStation 5 games, and many would say it was the best month for PS5 releases all year.

October is shaping up to be just as busy as September, and we’ve published a lot of reviews over the past month.

Let’s start with Hollow Knight: Silksong, as fans have been eagerly awaiting it for a long time. The highly anticipated sequel from Team Cherry generated a lot of excitement with its recent announcement and appears to be a hit with Hollow Knight fans.

Despite being a unique game, Borderlands 4 faced a problem similar to other highly anticipated sequels. Unfortunately, technical issues held it back, diminishing the excitement of its long-awaited release.

Overall, Gearbox’s new game has been very well-received, and it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the other major releases this month in our Game of the Month voting.

Silent Hill F is likely to split opinions among fans, but it’s definitely a major release and probably features one of the most unforgettable stories in gaming last month.

Let’s talk about *Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter*. This remake of Falcom’s original *Trails* game has been incredibly well-received, earning fantastic reviews and solidifying its place as a highlight of the entire series.

September brought a diverse range of new releases, with something to appeal to nearly every gamer. We saw everything from titles like Baby Steps to the latest installment in the EA Sports FC series, and fans finally got their hands on Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles.
