As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to say that Gamescom 2025 was truly an unforgettable experience! It outshone its predecessor in every way, according to GamesIndustry.biz. The event attracted a staggering 357,000 people from an impressive 128 countries worldwide. This attendance number not only broke records but also marked a substantial 6.5% increase over Gamescom 2024. It was truly a global celebration of the gaming community!
Last year’s Gamescom attracted approximately 335,000 visitors. In contrast, this year’s edition expanded its space, adding a new hall for entertainment and increasing the size of the indie section and outdoor areas.
This year’s Gamescom showcased a total of 1,568 exhibitors hailing from 72 various countries. The event was divided into 40 pavilions, with each being represented by 35 distinct nations. Additionally, some countries made their debut at the event, such as Kyrgyzstan, Dubai, and Thailand.
During Gamescom 2025, the regular attendance surpassed previous records with an impressive turnout of 34,000 guests. As per the report, the notable increase in foreign attendees was observed particularly from China, Canada, Japan, and the United States.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve gotta say, Gamescom really knocked it out of the park this year, both in-person and digitally! It was mind-blowing to see over 630 million viewers tuning in for content related to the event on Saturday alone – that’s a massive jump of around 105% compared to last year. And let me tell you, the Opening Night Live event was off the charts this year, racking up an impressive 72 million views!
At Gamescom 2025, as stated by the head of the German Games Industry Association, Felix Falk, the event exceeded previous standards in size, diversity, and international participation. This flagship festival for gaming culture emphasizes the powerful, constructive impact that video games, the industry, and the global community collectively exert.
At Gamescom 2025, Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse, stated that it has yet again raised the bar for global events. Unlike any other worldwide event, Gamescom seamlessly blends business and entertainment. This is evident in the 1,568 exhibitors occupying a total of 233,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Boasting high records across almost all aspects, the vast array of interactive opportunities and international involvement make Gamescom the premier event for the worldwide gaming enthusiasts.
