Gears of War Reckons It’s Ended the Console War as Reloaded Tops 1 Million Players

Over a million individuals have given Gears of War Reloaded a try since it launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC just a few days ago.

As the developer suggests, reaching this milestone signifies that the game is “gradually ending the console rivalry, bite by bite.” However, we’re somewhat skeptical about that claim.

It’s possible that the rapid increase in player numbers is due to free upgrades being offered on platforms where the game has been available previously, and also because it’s part of Xbox Game Pass. However, we can speculate that sales of full-price PS5 versions are substantial, given that this series is making its first appearance on Sony’s PlayStation platform.

Right now, when I’m writing this, the remaster is sitting at number 10 on the U.S. PlayStation Store’s best-sellers list. It trails only Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, along with timeless games like Roblox, Fortnite, and Madden NFL 26.

It would definitely be intriguing to have detailed insights into sales for all our systems. However, obtaining such specific data might not always be possible, and we may have to rely on approximations instead.

Have you grabbed Gears of War: Ultimate Edition recently, and if so, I’d love to hear your opinions about it in general? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
