General Hospital’s Tristan Rogers Diagnosed With Cancer

One General Hospitalstar has received a new medical diagnosis.

Tristan Rogers, who initially appeared on more than 1,400 episodes of a soap opera back in 1980, was recently diagnosed with cancer, according to his representative’s statement to Deadline.

Although he’s keeping optimistic and is collaborating with his healthcare professionals to develop a treatment strategy, this is a difficult period for Tristan and his kin. They are dealing with the emotional and physiological strains that accompany this condition, so they humbly request seclusion and empathy.

Apart from sharing a recent medical update, Rogers, who last portrayed Robert Scorpio on ‘General Hospital’ in November, also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the warm messages they’ve been receiving from everyone.

The representative went on to say that they are extremely thankful for the overwhelming affection and assistance from their friends and family. Tristan extends his heartfelt feelings towards his fans, expressing his deep gratitude for their unwavering loyalty and inspiration throughout the years. This support holds a significant value to him at this moment in time more than ever before.

As the 79-year-old individual fights an undisclosed form of cancer, the representative stressed the actor’s preference for keeping personal matters private. They mentioned that any future updates about his health situation would be disclosed only when considered fitting by Tristan and his loved ones.

Over the past 45 years, Rogers has frequently revisited the set of General Hospital, his debut being just one of many appearances. He starred in close to 200 episodes of The Young and the Restless and was awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor Performance in 2020 for Studio City’s digital series. However, it’s Port Charles that has seen him return time and again.

Robert’s manner of speaking has always been quite flippant, shared the Australian actor with Soap Opera Digest upon his character’s return in 2018 following a two-year break. In essence, he’s known for being rather witty and quick-tongued.

Rogers added, “I’m collaborating with many diverse individuals, and I believe the audience will find it enjoyable.
