George Clooney Reveals Whether His Kids Will Follow in His Footsteps

For George Clooney, his kids’ futures are still up in the air.

George Clooney, age 64, recently talked about what it’s like at home with his 8-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, and his wife, Amal Clooney. He also shared whether the children seem to have picked up an interest in acting.

“It’s tough to say at this age,” George shared with TopMob News at the September 29th New York Film Festival premiere of his film Jay Kelly. “They’re really funny and energetic kids who love performing. Ultimately, I just want them to pursue their passions and be happy,” he added.

Regarding whether their children are aware of what their parents do for work-with George being a well-known actor and Amal a human rights lawyer-the Good Night and Good Luck star shared a sweet story from recently.

“They have a general understanding,” he confessed. “The other day, my child asked me, ‘Dad, what does ‘famous’ mean?’ Someone at school told them I’m famous.’ I replied, ‘Tell that student I’m very famous.'”

Even though his children understand that people know their dad, it’s not because they’ve seen him acting in movies-at least, not as himself.

He stated, “They watched Fantastic Mr. Fox,” and then jokingly added, “I’m not letting them watch Batman & Robin; I need them to still think highly of me.”

When it comes to the rest of his films, however, George said his kids are “still a little young.”

It’s understandable that the children of the Ocean’s Eleven actor are still trying to grasp the idea of being famous. He and Amal have consistently stated they want to protect their twins from public attention.

As Amal shared with Glamour in an interview on July 3rd, “We try our best to protect our children from unwanted attention. We’ve always kept them private and have never shared any photos of them.”

Oh my gosh, she’s so real! You know, she’s been dealing with paparazzi forever because of George, but she was saying – and I’m paraphrasing, obviously, because I hang on her every word – that becoming a mom just makes everything *so* much harder. She basically admitted that, while she’s used to the attention, being a parent means she gets way more upset by the intrusions. It’s like, she’s always been private, but now it’s about protecting her kids, and it just hits different, you know? It’s so relatable, honestly!

Fortunately, she has wonderful support from her husband, whom she’s been married to for 10 years. He’s eager to face whatever challenges come their way together.

“I’m so very fortunate to spend each day with him,” Amal continued. “And now our family has grown to four. I truly appreciate everything and don’t take it for granted. I cherish the happiness and laughter I experience just being with my children.”

George, too, can’t help but gush over his wife.

“I’m so incredibly proud of my partner,” the Oscar winner shared with TopMob News on June 8. “She is the most courageous person I’ve ever known. I’m truly proud of her, and the fact that she feels proud of me too… I feel incredibly fortunate.”
