Since the initial Ghosts series has already concluded some time ago, enthusiasts of this popular comedy can look forward to a new installment of the American adaptation airing on television shortly.
The confirmation has come through that the fourth season of Ghosts US will debut on BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, 2nd July. This is exciting news as the first three seasons are currently streaming and ready for viewing.
In the United States, the fourth season debuted in October 2024, and the last episode aired in May 2025. Consequently, American fans have not had an unduly lengthy wait between episodes.
Initially, some skeptics questioned the American adaptation, but the show has since captivated audiences, as they delight in its familiar concept: a couple from New York unexpectedly inheriting Woodstone Manor, only to discover that it’s haunted by spirits.
In the opening episode of season 4, while Sam and the spirits are frantically searching for him, Isaac encounters Puritan spirit Patience for the first time since her disappearance into the ground.
Additionally, fans of the American spin-off can look forward to more episodes, as season 5 has been officially greenlit and will air on CBS during the 2026-2027 TV season in the UK.
Based on CBS reports, the series Ghosts US has approximately 11 million total viewers across all platforms, representing a 9% increase in streaming year-on-year. Therefore, it appears that this show is here to stay for quite some time.
Regarding the UK version that concluded in 2023, whispers persist about its potential future and the possibility of it being revived as a full-length movie.
It’s quite clear that this is the case, as it applies not only to The Simpsons but also other adapted sitcom films. However, before we can move forward, we need to develop a suitable storyline first.
He continued by saying: “We deeply yearn for Ghosts. The unique aspect about Ghosts is that we shot it from January through March since it was the season when we could secure the house prior to its renovation for all the activities that take place there.
Reflecting on it now, when we’ve stopped, I realize how wonderful it was to shoot during that season. It was so dismal outside, yet being able to spend that time with my friends and have a blast was truly a silver lining.
