Man, October was HUGE for PS5 releases! So, naturally, I was super curious to see what everyone was downloading from the PS Store. It was a really interesting mix, for sure!
Considering it launched at the beginning of the month as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, backed by Sony’s extensive marketing, many predicted Ghost of Yotei would be number one. However, it wasn’t enough to beat Battlefield 6.
EA’s latest shooting game was the best-selling title in both North America and Europe, pushing Yotei into second place. While we expected Battlefield 6 to be popular, it’s performed particularly well on the PlayStation 5.
The remaining charts reveal some interesting successes. ARC Raiders performed exceptionally well, even though it only launched recently, and Dispatch is also proving popular despite not having all of its episodes released.
Digimon Story Time Stranger proved to be another success for Bandai Namco, joining Little Nightmares 3 in making for a surprisingly strong month for the company.
Okay, so October’s game releases weren’t all hits. I was surprised to see Ninja Gaiden 4 barely make the top 20 in North America – I thought it would do better. But honestly, it pretty much flopped in Europe; it didn’t even show up on the charts, which is a bummer.
Unfortunately, The Outer Worlds 2 also had a slow start. It debuted late in the month and only reached 15th place in North American sales charts. Similar to Ninja Gaiden 4, it didn’t appear on Europe’s top-selling game lists.
