Ghost of Yotei’s initial update is out, and it’s highly recommended before you start playing. Ghost of Yotei looks to be a major exclusive title for PlayStation. Its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, is a beloved PlayStation game and, along with The Last of Us Part 2, formed a powerful duo of games in the summer of 2020. Tsushima was a fantastic conclusion to the PS4 generation, leaving players eager for a sequel. Sucker Punch delivered with Ghost of Yotei, which builds strongly on the foundation of Tsushima.
I’ve finished playing Ghost of Yotei and gave it a 4 out of 5 in my review. I especially liked its movie-like gameplay, compelling story of revenge, and beautiful open world. I did play before the first update, though, and I ran into a few problems. PlayStation has promised to fix many of these, and it looks like those fixes will be included in an update available on October 2nd. We don’t know exactly how big the update will be, but it addresses some small issues that could slow things down, as well as various bugs and more.
Ghost of Yotei will receive a day one patch that improves the game in several ways. It will adjust the in-game economy, correct how enemies act, and introduce new features to the photo mode. While the specific photo mode improvements weren’t detailed, players have noted the lack of a grid to help with shot alignment. Overall, this is a substantial update designed to address key issues and refine the experience in Ghost of Yotei. The complete patch notes are available below.
