Ghost of Yotei free DLC ‘Legends’ launches March 10

On March 10th, a free multiplayer update called “Legends” will be available for Ghost of Tsushima. The update, version 1.5, was announced by publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions.

Legends is a new online mode where you and your friends can play together to battle powerful, supernatural creatures based on the Yōtei Six. It’s coming in update 1.5 and will be available at no cost to all players who own Ghost of Tsushima!

Legends will feature three different ways to play. In Survival mode, you and up to three friends will battle increasingly tough waves of enemies across four unique maps. The goal is to capture and hold territory on each map. Controlling a location activates a helpful Blessing, while losing control triggers a hindering Curse. Each map has its own special Blessings and Curses to make gameplay even more varied.

In Story mode, you and a partner will complete 12 missions together. Every three missions, you’ll unlock an Incursion – a challenging, four-player attack on a base controlled by one of the Yotei Six. Each Incursion ends with a boss battle against a huge, powerful creature – either a Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.

Next month, we’re launching a Raid featuring the rest of the Yotei Six! Get ready to battle the Dragon and Lord Saito in a challenging test for your team.

In Ghost of Yotei: Legends, players can choose from four distinct classes: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, and Shinobi. All classes can use both katanas and ranged weapons, but each specializes in a unique weapon and combat style, unlocking exclusive armor as they progress. The Samurai is skilled with the ōdachi and has the most weapon options, while the Archer can wield a yari (spear) and carry an extra ranged weapon. The Mercenary fights with dual katanas and has abilities focused on versatility, and the Shinobi uses the kusarigama alongside stealth-based skills.

As you progress and level up, you’ll not only get standard rewards, but also unlock powerful Legendary weapons and gear by completing tougher challenges. We’re bringing back Photo Mode too, so you can capture awesome action shots with your team as you climb to the highest levels. When you need a break, the new Legends lobby offers a place to practice combat and archery, play a friendly game of Zeni Hajiki, or compete for the best score in Bamboo Strike.
