In *Ghost of Yotei*, Coins are the main currency you’ll use to purchase and improve your equipment. However, they can be hard to come by, particularly when you’re just starting the game.

This Ghost of Yotei guide is a primer on how to quickly and efficiently farm Coins.

Bounties

You can earn a lot of Coins by completing Bounties. Luckily, the Bounty Board gives you helpful clues to find them, making them fairly easy to locate. What’s great is that Bounties are available right from the start of the game and also reward you with useful equipment.

NPC Rescue

Okay, so as I’ve been exploring, I keep running into people who need help – usually they’re getting harassed or something. If I rescue them, I get some coins as a reward. It’s not *quite* as much money as taking on a bounty, but it’s still a decent little bonus for helping out.

Charms And Resource Farms

Find Yotei’s Shadow Hot Spring, located near Shikotsu Woods in the Yotei Grasslands. Before you go, you’ll need to finish the ‘Old Trails’ Side Tale, which starts at The Old Stables. Once at the hot spring, jump down from the small platform to reach the thin tree below. Next to the tree, on a tree stump, you’ll discover the Charm of Bountiful Harvest. This useful charm will help you gather more wood, flowers, and plants when you collect them.

From your previous spot, continue east into the Yotei Grasslands to find a watch tower. As you leave, the road splits – one way leads west, and the other continues south towards Shirahige Falls. The watch tower is a short distance down the southern path.

Defeat the enemies in this area, then locate either the Yotei’s Shadow Rose or the Mushrooms near the camp. After collecting whichever one you need, go to the pause menu and choose ‘Restart From Last Checkpoint’. This will bring you back close to where you found the flower or mushroom.

Merchants

You can get rid of extra items and supplies by selling them for Coins, or by trading them for other resources that you can then sell for Coins. You can also collect or fish for resources and quickly sell those for a decent amount of money each time.
