Sucker Punch Productions has announced the release date for Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the free co-op mode for their popular action-adventure game. It will be available on March 10th with update 1.5, and includes three different game modes and four maps, offering players a lot of new content.
The game begins with Story Mode, offering 12 missions designed for one or two players. These missions are grouped into sets of three, and completing each set unlocks Incursion mode. In Incursion, teams of four players will work together to attack a stronghold and defeat powerful bosses like the Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.
Survival Mode lets up to four players team up to fight off endless waves of enemies on four different maps. The goal is to control areas, which unlocks a team-wide benefit called a Blessing. However, losing control of these areas triggers a Curse, so players are encouraged to stay near objectives or move quickly between them.
The popular Raid mode is coming back, starting in April with a battle against Lord Saito, also known as the Dragon. Like in Ghost of Tsushima Legends, you’ll choose from four classes, though these will have some unique features. Each class can use a katana and a ranged weapon, but they’ll also be skilled in the newer weapon types introduced in the game.
Each character class has a signature weapon and unique strengths. The Samurai is versatile with many weapon options, including the large odachi. Shinobi excel at stealth and use the kusarigama. Archers utilize the yari spear, along with another ranged attack. Lastly, Mercenaries fight with dual katanas and focus on practical, supportive abilities.
As you complete harder missions, you’ll unlock powerful new weapons and gear. You can also use Photo Mode to capture awesome shots of your team. Plus, a new Legends Lobby lets you challenge friends to Zeni Hajiki, compete in Bamboo Strike for the best scores, and hone your skills.
