Although other games may have had similar features before, Sucker Punch’s inFAMOUS: Second Son is widely considered the game that truly popularized photo modes.
The developer has added this feature to all of their games since then, and it’s become one of their strongest points.
It was expected that Ghost of Yotei would have a photo mode from the start, considering how beautiful both it and the original Ghost of Tsushima are.
The development team recently shared a detailed look at Yotei’s photo mode on the PlayStation Blog, and it appears to be a very powerful and feature-rich tool.
You can pause the game at almost any time to take photos or videos. You’ll have choices like regular still images, cinemagraphs (photos with small moving parts), or smooth tracking shots.
Photo mode has a ton of options to play with! You’ve got standard photography controls like focal length and depth of field, but it goes way beyond that. You can adjust colours with filters, add particle effects, control wind and weather, and even change characters’ facial expressions. There’s even a setting to adjust how shiny swords are – you can customize the glint on Atsu’s katana!
Sucker Punch is giving players a lot more options than usual to customize and share their photos and videos from the game.
We’re planning on capturing lots of beautiful photos of the scenery in Yotei! Are you excited about the photo mode in Ghost of Yotei? Let us know what you think in the comments!
