As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled about One More Level’s next project, Valor Mortis. Having mastered the high-octane Ghostrunner series, they’re now shaking things up with this new endeavor. Valor Mortis is a first-person game that transports us to an alternative timeline where we rise from our graves after serving under Napoleon, only to find ourselves battling monstrous threats and untangling a sinister conspiracy that could end humanity as we know it.
The studio openly acknowledges that Valor Mortis shares similarities with the Souls series, but its first-person perspective sets it apart as a unique take on the genre. This distinctiveness is further emphasized by its narrative setup: “You are William, a soldier of the Grande Armée resurrected from the battlefield. However, the Europe you reawaken to isn’t the one you fought for. A baffling pestilence now ravages the continent, and within you surges the tainted power that caused it.

The game titled Valor Mortis is aiming for a launch on PlayStation 5 in the year 2026. If you’re eager to try this game, consider enrolling for a pre-alpha trial version available on PC. This game invites you to battle grotesque creatures, harness extraordinary abilities, and uncover the mystery surrounding Napoleon’s Grande Armée.
