The CBS comedy, often overlooked, is finding unexpected success as viewers rent it on demand. The latest episodes, which came out last week, suggest the new season is getting off to a strong start.
As of October 19, 2025, the TV show *Ghosts* is the most popular title on Amazon’s pay-per-view (PVOD) Top 10 list, according to FlixPatrol. It debuted at #6 on iTunes yesterday and is currently at #7. The show is also performing well on Paramount+, where it’s available for subscribers; it reached #4 in the US on October 17th and remains a Top 10 title, averaging a global ranking of #6. This increase in popularity across streaming and PVOD platforms comes shortly after…
The show *Ghosts* features Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Sam and Jay Arondekar, a married couple from New York. They think they’ve found the perfect home when Sam inherits Woodstone Manor from her great aunt. However, when they visit the countryside estate, they discover it’s in disrepair and, more surprisingly, inhabited by a group of ghosts, each with a unique history tied to the property.
This often-overlooked sitcom has a unique take on the usual ghost story: Jay can’t see or hear ghosts, while his brother Sam can after a close call with death. This creates a funny and touching show with lots of both laughs and heartwarming scenes.
The comedy *Ghosts* first aired on CBS in 2021 and was quickly picked up for another season. Recently, it was renewed again, ensuring the show will continue through season six. Season five premiered on October 16th, but it’s still unknown how many episodes will be in the new season. Previous seasons usually have between 18 and 22 episodes, though season three was shorter with only 10.
The New Season of Ghosts Will Give Depth to Fan-Favorite Characters
Now that season five of *Ghosts* has begun and is already popular on streaming and for on-demand rental, fans are excited about what’s coming up. Before the premiere, co-showrunner Joe Wiseman shared that some of the show’s fan-favorite characters will be getting…
Wiseman particularly highlighted Susan “Flower” Montero, noting she’s showing significant growth early on. He mentioned they’re eager to see her character develop further once she’s more clear-headed, as she’s been struggling with substance abuse. Viewers can also anticipate a more detailed storyline for Román Zaragoza’s character, “Sass,” a Lenape hunter dealing with the challenges of a long-distance relationship with Joan (Taylor Ortega).
New episodes of Ghosts air Thursdays on CBS.
