It’s been 25 years since the show Gilmore Girls first came out, and fans are still debating who Rory Gilmore (played by Alexis Bledel) should have been with in the end.
Jared Padalecki and Matt Czuchry, the actors who played Rory Gilmore’s boyfriends Dean Forester and Logan Huntzburger respectively, recently told People magazine who they believe was the better match for her.
Jared Padalecki admits he’s on Team Jess, even though he acknowledges all of Rory’s love interests had their faults. He points out Dean definitely wasn’t perfect, but ultimately, he’s choosing Jess as his favorite.
My feelings about Logan and Rory have evolved over time. The recent Netflix revival was fun, but I think Logan could potentially return to Rory’s life if he’s made significant positive changes and is in a very different place personally.
The show followed the life of a young woman and her mother, Lorelai Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham), as she navigated love interests – Jess (played by Milo Ventimiglia), Dean, and Logan – and life’s challenges. It originally aired for seven seasons and was later revived with a spin-off series on Netflix called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Lorelai and Rory, a mother and daughter, navigate challenges to their close relationship throughout the show, but always stay connected. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the series has become popular again thanks to streaming platforms like Netflix, introducing a new generation to the charming and funny town of Stars Hollow.
Jared Padalecki and Scott Baio discussed the show’s lasting impact and why they think Gilmore Girls remains beloved after 25 years. Baio shared, “It’s incredible to still be discussing the show after all this time, with so many different generations having watched it. It’s wonderful to be part of that legacy.”
Padalecki remembers first meeting his co-stars, like Czuchry, when he joined the show in season five. He joked that it felt like a shift in the show’s dynamic, but noted that Rory had already ended things with Dean, so he knew she was well taken care of.
Gilmore Girls is currently available to stream on Netflix.
