Gina Rodriguez and Joe LoCicero are growing their family.
The actress who starred in “Jane the Virgin” announced that she and her husband, after six years of marriage, are expecting their second child. This news was shared as she showcased her baby bump on the July 11 red carpet for the Netflix event “Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3” fight held at Madison Square Garden.
On this special day, the 40-year-old woman chose to wear a stunning black gown adorned with flowers, which beautifully highlighted her expanding belly. Later, she took some individual photos, after which Joe, who married the actress in May 2019, affectionately hugged his wife and gently rested his hand on her stomach while sporting an enormous smile.
The couple’s significant revelation is made approximately two years following the arrival of their first child together, whom they named Charlie. Despite their inclination towards privacy regarding their romantic life and family matters, the actress occasionally offers a peek into her role as a mother. The pair initially connected in 2016 when Joe amusingly impersonated a stropper during season two of Jane’s CW series.
Gina confessed to People magazine in January that she desires to share everything about him, yet she restrains herself. She understands that at some point she will need to stop due to his privacy, but her affection for him is so profound that she can’t help but express it.
She remarked about the toddler, ‘His ability to communicate is astonishing!’ I’m incredibly thankful for this skill because he expresses his desires, necessities, and even sets limits – in turn, he’s helping me understand my own boundaries!
Despite sharing their engagement news as far back as 2018, the actress from “Miss Bala” chose to maintain a private air about the intimate details of their romantic milestone.
She shared with TopMob News that she plans to keep private the way Joe proposed in 2018, as there are limited personal belongings one can hold onto when becoming a public figure. It’s both a privilege and a challenge, she explained.
She added, “It’s wonderful being able to do what you enjoy daily and having so many amazing people behind you. Yet, the minor downside is that everything becomes public knowledge now. So I plan to keep that particular aspect private for as long as possible.
