Glastonbury thrown into chaos as huge rock band pull out with just hours to go as their replacement is revealed by bosses

A well-known, large rock group regrettably had to withdraw from the Glastonbury festival today, causing a significant change in the lineup at short notice – and the act taking their place has now been announced.

Fans, both those at the festival and those watching from home, have been deeply saddened after the famous 2000s band made their announcement in an official statement.

Tonight at 8:30 pm, the Deftones were scheduled to take the stage on the Other Stage for a performance that would be enjoyed by countless enthusiastic ravers.

However, due to illness the scheduled appearance won’t be going ahead.

Through social media, a representative from the band shared this sad news with disappointed fans: ‘Unfortunately, one of our members is sick and we won’t be able to perform at Glastonbury tonight.’

I’m deeply disappointed that circumstances beyond my control are preventing me from experiencing something I’ve eagerly anticipated for months. It’s heart-wrenching to miss out, but life has a way of throwing unexpected hurdles at us.

I’m eagerly looking forward to going back to Glastonbury in the near future, but for now, I’m planning to meet up with you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.

The organizers of Glastonbury Festival have swiftly rearranged their schedule to maintain uninterrupted proceedings, with the Deftones’ performance now being filled by another act.

Instead of British rapper Skepta, whose real name is Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr, performing, he’ll be gracing the stage with his most popular tracks.

It was announced by a representative from Glastonbury that unfortunately, Deftones had to cancel their 8:30 PM performance at the Other Stage tonight, as one of the band members is unwell.

‘Skepta will kindly step-in, taking the stage at 9pm.’

I can hardly contain my enthusiasm as I prepare to make history at the legendary Glastonbury Festival! Mark my words, I’ll be storming that stage without any backup crew or elaborate production. It’s time for me to strut my stuff and leave an indelible mark – a victory lap, if you will. Gear up for an unforgettable performance, as we journey towards the epic Big Smoke 2025!

The schedule changes will see jazz band Ezra Collective’s set will now run from 7pm until 8:15pm.

At the West Holts stage, designed for 30,000 spectators, the event was halted 47 minutes ahead of Kneecap’s scheduled performance to prevent a potential overcrowding situation in that area.

At precisely 4 PM on Saturday, the three-member rap group made their grand entrance onto the stage, approximately a fortnight following an appearance in court by one of its members due to allegations related to terrorism.

To conclude their performance, the gathering echoed cries of “Free, Free Palestine” and expressions of discontent towards Keir Starmer, as the throng waved banners advocating for Gaza’s cause.

My friend, adorned with a keffiyeh, declared “Glastonbury, I stand as a liberated soul” as the Irish rap collective graced the West Holts Stage. The ensemble acknowledged the Eavis family’s backing and criticized the British legal system for his detainment.

Before taking the stage at Glastonbury, the band explained that their earlier controversial acts were intended as satire, in response to the BBC’s decision not to live-stream their performance.

Instead, thousands tuned into a stream of the show on TikTok by a middle-aged woman called Helen.
