Just days after Wicked: For Good hit theaters, a spinoff series focusing on the character of Glinda is in the works. Ariana Grande-Butera plays Glinda in both Wicked films, and the recent release of Wicked: For Good was a huge success, earning $150 million in the US and $226 million globally.
Harper Collins will publish a new novel called Galinda: A Charmed Childhood by Gregory Maguire in fall 2026. The story will focus on Galinda’s early life, before she went to Shiz University and met Elphaba, which dramatically changed her life.
As a big fan of Gregory Maguire’s Elphie: A Wicked Childhood, I’m thrilled to hear this new book is being thought of as a companion piece to it! Elphie told us about Elphaba’s early life, and I can’t wait to see what this one holds. Plus, there are some gorgeous deluxe editions available for pre-order – they have stenciled edges and special designed endpapers, which sounds amazing! You can find more details in the announcement linked below.
