After announcing the actors for most of the key roles last week, we now know who will play Atreus, completing the main cast.
A new Prime Video series is being made based on the recent God of War game, which reimagines the story with Norse mythology.
I’m really excited to see what happens with Atreus, Kratos’s son! It seems like he’s going to be a huge part of the story going forward, and everyone’s wondering who will play him as he gets older. It’s a big question mark right now, and it’s got fans buzzing!
Now, via Deadline, it has been revealed that Atreus will be played by 12-year-old Callum Vinson.

Despite being early in his career, Vinson has already acted in several films and TV shows like Dead Ringers, Long Bright River, and Poker Face. He’s also slated to appear in upcoming projects, including season 3 of The Night Agent and the Friday the 13th prequel, Crystal Lake.
Vinson will be acting alongside Ryan Hurst, who plays his father Kratos in the show. Other cast members include Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Max Parker as Heimdall, Alastair Duncan as Memir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
I’m so excited for this series! It’s going to follow Kratos and Atreus as they fulfill Faye’s final wish – spreading her ashes. But it’s more than just a journey; it’s about them learning from each other. Kratos is going to teach Atreus how to be a better god, and Atreus is going to help Kratos become a better person. It’s a really powerful story!

Even though production hasn’t officially started on the first season of the God of War series, Amazon has already renewed the show for a second season. Ronald D. Moore, known for creating Outlander, will lead the writing team.
People excited about the upcoming adaptation are also eagerly awaiting news about the next God of War game, but the developers at Sony Santa Monica haven’t revealed any details about the future of the series.
