Late last year, Sony released a new Power Saver mode for both the PS5 and PS5 Pro. This feature helps games run while using less electricity.
Currently, only a few games offer this feature, but more are starting to add it. God of War Ragnarok is the newest game to announce it will work with it.
A new update (version 6.06) is now available for the PS5 version of the game, adding a Power Saver mode to help reduce energy consumption.
Here’s the official wording in the patch notes:
“Adds compatibility for Power Saver mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro.”
Simple as that.
After the game updates, look for a leaf-shaped Power Saver icon next to its name on the PS5 menu to confirm it’s installed.
Some people are suggesting that PlayStation’s Power Saver mode might be a first step towards creating a portable gaming console, but this is just a guess at this point.
We expect more PS5 games to eventually offer Power Saver support, but it’s happening very slowly.
