God of War Trilogy Remake Actor Says He Was “Let Go Prematurely”

Many fans, like us, were excited to hear T.C. Carson is reprising his role as the voice of Kratos in the God of War Trilogy Remake. This updated version brings the original games – which first introduced the iconic Spartan warrior – to a new generation.

Carson received a warm reception, and he cleverly answered questions about returning to the God of War series after Christopher Judge became the new voice of Kratos in the Norse saga.

During MEGACON Orlando, actor Christopher Judge, known for playing Kratos, answered a fan question with a noticeably calm and easygoing attitude – a stark contrast to the intensity he brings to the character.

They realized they’d made a mistake letting me go, so they reached out again. We had a really good conversation – Eric and I went to dinner, discussed everything, and he explained their plans, which I was happy to agree to.

Carson appears just as excited as we are about his return, and we’re glad to finally have some official news about the remake after all the speculation last year. We’re happy to be patient for our next trip to Greece, and we hope it lives up to our expectations.

The remake of the God of War trilogy doesn’t have a release date yet, and it will likely be a while before we find out when it’s coming. Santa Monica Studio is currently focused on development and waiting to share more details. Beyond that, rumors suggest a new game is in the works, possibly starring Kratos’ wife, Faye, from the Norse mythology stories. If these rumors are true, it could launch in the first six months of 2027, with a first look potentially coming in May or June of 2026.
