At the time of writing, God Save Birmingham is scheduled to release into early access in 2026.

In a chat with IGN back in June, I personally verified that this information was confirmed by Ocean Drive’s Publishing Head, Jungsoo Lee himself.

As for the full release, the game’s Steam page has this to say:

Following the Early Access launch, we plan to spend about a year perfecting the town itself, with a primary focus on creating an immersive sandbox-style gameplay experience that includes survival challenges.

Following this, we’ll devote approximately another year to crafting immersive, narrative-focused gameplay features. These elements will enable players to delve into the tales of Birmingham’s inhabitants as they strive to endure a world plunged into chaos.

In essence, “God Save Birmingham” is an intriguing game that revolves around zombies set in the medieval era of Birmingham. If this theme doesn’t pique your interest, then perhaps no other feature will captivate you!

In the heart of Birmingham, I find myself alone amidst a chilling apocalypse. The once bustling medieval market town now stands desolate, overrun by an unrelenting wave of the undead. As the last living soul, it’s up to me to survive this nightmare.

I must juggle my basic needs while mastering intricate physics-based mechanics. Every move counts as I dodge and weave through the relentless horde, trying to buy time for my survival. The doom that has befallen this city is a test of my wits, endurance, and will to live. Will I make it? Only time will tell.

In this game, players will embark on a survival adventure that subtly incorporates storyline aspects.
