Godzilla is everywhere lately! This week, the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters premieres on Apple TV. In the world of comics, Godzilla has crossed over into the Marvel Universe and is even gearing up for a battle with Sonic the Hedgehog. Since last November, IDW Publishing has been showcasing Godzilla fighting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the epic storyline will conclude with a frightening new combination of characters.
The final issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla is coming soon, and IDW has released a preview showing some surprising team-ups! The Turtles are merging with various monsters: Leonardo with Godzilla, Raphael with Rodan, Michaelangelo with Ghidorah, and Donatello with Jet Jaguar. They’ll need this extra power because Shredder is also fusing with Mechagodzilla to create a devastating new enemy called “Mechashredder.” Fans of both Kaiju and the Ninja Turtles can get the epic conclusion on April 1st.

Godzilla’s Latest Turtle Crossover
If you haven’t been following the recent comic book event, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are struggling to stop Godzilla from destroying everything. In the latest issue, they’ve traveled to Japan to try and defeat him. As the Turtles battle Godzilla, they’re discovering the history of his world and the many giant monsters he’s faced before. To make things even harder, the Turtles’ usual enemies are also getting more powerful.
As the Lizard King battles humanity, Shredder and Kang have turned Bebop and Rocksteady into giant monsters. With Donatello researching the origins of Jet Jaguar and the Turtles’ friends finding Mothra’s egg, the story is reaching a climax with just two issues left in the series. But this isn’t the first time Godzilla’s world has crossed over with other comics – there have been many similar team-ups!
Godzilla has recently battled heroes from the Marvel Universe in several comic book issues. However, thanks to IDW Publishing, he’s appeared in many other crossover events as well. We’ve seen Godzilla fight the Power Rangers, and even the Justice League tried to stop him. This year brings a new comic featuring Godzilla versus Sonic the Hedgehog, and it’s likely other Sega characters will get powerful, monster-like transformations too. Though we might not see these team-ups as cartoons, comic books seem to have no limits when it comes to bringing different universes together.
