Godzilla is everywhere right now – in movies like Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and on TV with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. But he’s also making a huge impact in comic books. Even after the main IDW series shockingly killed Godzilla, he somehow found a way to battle heroes in the Marvel Universe. The recent Godzilla Destroys The Marvel Universe comic just finished, but true to Marvel style, it ended with a hint of things to come. It looks like Godzilla will be back for more Marvel adventures, and he won’t be facing them alone.
Please be aware that this discussion contains spoilers for the final issue of Godzilla Destroys The Marvel Universe, Issue #5. The previous issue shocked readers by showing the Incredible Hulk defeated in battle. Even after growing to Godzilla’s size with Pym Particles, the Hulk couldn’t win. However, Marvel’s heroes weren’t out of options. Black Panther and other brilliant minds designed a special mech that combined the powers of many heroes, allowing them to surprisingly defeat Godzilla.
In a desperate move, the heroes trapped Godzilla inside a powerful mech and, with Dr. Strange’s help, launched it into deep space using Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. But their efforts didn’t solve the problem – Godzilla wasn’t alone on the distant planet. Knull, the god of the Symbiotes, formed an alliance with the kaiju, significantly increasing its power. Now covered in symbiotes, Godzilla has transformed into an even more terrifying creature, and a chilling warning promises, “Godzilla Will Return…And Destroy Even More Of The Marvel Universe.”
Godzilla Vs. Marvel: Round Two

Godzilla is heading back to Marvel, and it will be fun to see what adventures await him. In a recent team-up, he battled iconic heroes like Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, Hulk, and the Fantastic Four. During these encounters, Godzilla didn’t just fight—he also gained incredible powers, including the Power Cosmic, a Gamma boost, and even bonded with a symbiote. When Godzilla returns, maybe we’ll see him clash with Marvel heroes from different eras.
It might seem surprising, but this isn’t the first time Godzilla has battled characters from a comic book world. Before teaming up with Marvel, Godzilla faced off against DC Comics heroes in a series called Godzilla x Kong x Justice League, and a follow-up series brought them together for another showdown.
