Godzilla Fans Can Have a Monster Movie Marathon for Free Right Now

Tubi, like most free streaming services, doesn’t keep content available indefinitely. While Tubi Originals might stay up permanently, popular movies and shows come and go. That’s part of what makes Tubi enjoyable – you can always discover something new, and all it costs is watching a few ads. Right now, for example, Tubi has a huge selection of Godzilla movies, spanning many different eras of the franchise. It’s best to watch them while you can!

Let’s take a look at all the Godzilla movies currently available on Tubi, and also explore some other great monster and giant creature films from Toho that you can stream there.

Which Godzilla Movies Are Currently on Tubi?

Let’s explore these films in order, starting with the classic Shōwa era (1950s-1970s). You can find most of the Godzilla movies from this period on HBO Max, except for King Kong vs. Godzilla. While Tubi doesn’t have that one either, they offer several other great films from the era, including Invasion of Astro-Monster, the exciting Terror of Mechagodzilla, the often-overlooked Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, and the famously poor All Monsters Attack.

Tubi isn’t just offering four Godzilla films from the Showa era – they also have a great selection of other classic Toho monster movies that fans love. Alongside Godzilla, you can find Mothra, The H-Man, Varan the Unbelievable (who later appeared in Destroy All Monsters), Atragon (featuring Manda, also from Destroy All Monsters), and the popular The War of the Gargantuas.

The Heisei era, spanning the 1980s and 90s, saw Godzilla appear in seven films. These included The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. You can currently find the final three of these movies on Tubi.

Destoroyah is a standout film, and Mechagodzilla II is highly enjoyable. Even SpaceGodzilla, considered the weakest of the bunch, feels important now that it’s likely to appear as the villain in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Rounding out this period is Rebirth of Mothra III, which is often praised as the best film in its trilogy.

And then there’s the Millennium series – honestly, a really fun era of Godzilla films! While Tubi doesn’t have everything from this period (sadly no Shin Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One yet!), it’s still got a great selection. This era gave us six movies, starting with Godzilla 2000, then Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, that super fun and over-the-top Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S., and finishing with the epic Godzilla: Final Wars. Right now on Tubi, you can watch Megaguirus, GMAK (that’s Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla), Against Mechagodzilla again, and Final Wars! It’s a perfect way to dive into some classic monster action.

The Millennium series relies a bit too much on special effects, but it’s still enjoyable. And since Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is a popular favorite from this period – and tells a self-contained story (even with a unique Godzilla design compared to the surrounding films) – it’s a good entry point into this era of Godzilla movies.

I’m curious – if you’re planning a Godzilla marathon on Tubi, which movie would you choose to kick it off? Let me know in the comments, and head over to the ComicBook Forum to chat with other fans!
