The sequel to the hit film Godzilla Minus One, titled Godzilla Minus Zero, will arrive in North American theaters on November 6, 2026. Directed again by Takashi Yamazaki, the Japanese-made movie will be released just three days after its Japanese debut on November 3, thanks to Toho and GKids. This is a much faster release for North American audiences than Godzilla Minus One, which premiered in Japan almost a month before coming to North America in 2023.
With a quick turnaround between releases, the sequel to Godzilla Minus Zero will launch worldwide while the first film is still popular, giving North American audiences a chance to see it around the same time as everyone else. Although it’s coming out in a busy month with big releases like The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, Godzilla Minus Zero is expected to perform well thanks to the huge success of the original.
Toho points out that November 3rd is a significant date for Godzilla fans. It’s the anniversary of the very first Godzilla movie, which premiered in Japan in 1954 and is now known as “Godzilla Day.” Last year, Godzilla Minus One was released on this date in Japan and became the highest-grossing Japanese Godzilla film ever, earning over $116 million worldwide. Now, the sequel will also debut in Japan on November 3rd, with plans to release it internationally at a later date.
