Many recipes in Hytale call for different kinds of wood. The game features a wide variety of wood types, and you’ll find more as you explore new areas. One example is Goldenwood Trunks.
I was initially puzzled by a recipe calling for Goldenwood Trunks and struggled to figure out what they were. This guide will explain what to look for and exactly where to find them. Let’s dive in!
Goldenwood Trunk Location
In Hytale, to obtain Goldenwood Trunks, the best way to get them is through Sallow Logs.
Palm Logs are technically a type of Goldenwood Trunk, but right now you can only find them in chests. This makes them an unreliable source, as they don’t drop from anywhere else.

Sallow Logs are obtained by chopping down trees with bright yellow leaves. You’ll only find these trees in Hytale’s Devastated Lands – the lava-filled biome.

You can usually spot these plants on the map by their unique leaves. I’ve noticed they only grow in the lighter brown parts of the Devastated Lands.
These woods aren’t common, and you’ll find them scattered around. However, they’re much easier to spot than other types of wood, making them relatively easy to find and collect.

Wrap Up
You now have all the information you need to get resources from the Goldenwood Trunk in Hytale. This will let you build the Tier 7 Farmer’s Workbench and craft other items you’ve been struggling with. The main challenge is that Sallow Log trees are rare in the game, so getting a large supply might be difficult. Hopefully, the developers will add more ways to find these logs, especially if they introduce new recipes that require them.
