For months, fans of Good Omens have been eager for news about season 3, which will be the show’s last. Now, Michael Sheen, one of the show’s stars, has finally shared an update!
The actor who plays Aziraphale shared that they recently watched the final episode and were deeply moved, both laughing and crying at the story’s lovely conclusion.
Okay, so Charlie Sheen addressed a rumor about a secret screening, and it’s a pretty funny story! Someone mentioned hearing ‘a little bird singing’ about it, and Sheen jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to confirm it actually happened. He said they did have a screening last night, and it was so emotionally powerful it made him both laugh and cry. Honestly, it sounds like a pretty special night!
He acknowledged that viewers will have strong reactions – some parts they’ll adore, others they’ll disagree with. While he feels it would have been better as six episodes, he’s grateful for what the series ultimately became. He praised the direction, acting, visual style, and overall effort, adding a curious note: ‘And there’s nightingales.’
I’m so excited for the 90-minute finale! It’s going to finish the story of Aziraphale and Crowley, and I’m really hoping they can stop the Apocalypse. Last season, we finally saw their relationship become something romantic – that kiss was amazing! – and honestly, everyone’s on the edge of their seats to see what happens with them next. I can’t wait!
According to David Tennant, the third season of Good Omens was initially intended to have six episodes. However, it was later reduced to a single 90-minute finale following accusations of sexual assault against Neil Gaiman, the show’s co-creator and author, which he firmly denies. He subsequently left the series.
He helped write the final episode of Good Omens, but wasn’t involved in the show’s production itself, and his company, Blank Corporation, had no part in it.
As a movie lover, I was really disturbed to learn that nine women have come forward with accusations against this writer. I first read about it in a detailed article in Vulture back in January 2025, and then heard more about their experiences in a Tortoise Media podcast released last July. It’s upsetting to hear these stories.

The accusations against Gaiman involved claims of sexual activity, including rough sex and BDSM, that occurred without the other person’s agreement. Gaiman has strongly stated that he did not engage in any activity that was unwanted or against the law.
When I read these recent stories, some parts felt familiar, while others didn’t. It’s a mix of things that actually happened and things that clearly didn’t.
I’m not perfect, but I have always ensured any sexual activity was completely consensual. I have never crossed that line.

Although specific details are still scarce, David Tennant recently discussed the upcoming finale of Good Omens on ITV’s The Assembly. He confirmed they are filming a final season, but noted there have been some changes to the cast and crew.
I’m just relieved we were able to finish the story. It would have been frustrating to leave things unresolved, so I’m happy we found a way to wrap it up.
