However, that changed today with the official reveal of the long-awaited LEGO Ideas Goonies set (21363)! It launches November 1st, and the price is surprisingly good considering the size and detail. The LEGO Ideas Goonies set brings the classic 1985 movie to life! With 2912 pieces, you can build a detailed scene from the film’s treasure hunt. It includes the Fratellis’ hideout and caves, One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room, and even working traps and secret passages. Plus, the back of the model is designed as the hull of the pirate ship, the Inferno, and it’s filled with fun Easter eggs for fans to discover.

The game features interactive elements like dropping boulders and opening trapdoors using the Copper Bones Skeleton Key. You can even play the Skeleton Organ, but be careful – hitting the wrong key triggers a surprise, just like in the movie. Plus, the game is packed with Easter eggs, including a reference to the famous deleted scene with the octopus.

The LEGO Ideas set based on The Goonies was created by Vaggelis Ntezes, a 3D artist from Greece who goes by “Delusion Brick” on the LEGO Ideas platform. Ntezes shared that the project was inspired by his childhood. “I revisited memories of growing up in the 80s, playing with LEGO Pirates, and watching The Goonies,” he explained. “I wanted to create something that was both fun to play with and beautiful to display, capturing the adventurous spirit of the film.” The set combines the iconic Inferno with the cave system and traps from the movie, and Ntezes hopes it will bring enjoyment to longtime fans and a new generation alike.
