Batman is Gotham City‘s primary hero and protector, but he often relies on others despite preferring to work alone. He has a network of allies known as the Bat Family, but with so much trouble in Gotham, he’s getting help from some unexpected sources—including a hero whose own comic book series was recently ended.
Upcoming issues of Detective Comics reveal that Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) is moving to Gotham City after leaving Star City. He’ll be joining forces with Black Canary (Dinah Lance) and Batman, but their collaboration won’t be a simple team-up. They’ll be investigating a challenging case that’s proven difficult even for Batman to solve.
Green Arrow’s Arrival In Gotham May Have Ties to The Past

In Detective Comics #1107, Batman is investigating the disappearance of a teenager with a hidden past, but his investigation has stalled. He’s forced to ask for help, teaming up with Black Canary and the recently arrived Green Arrow. Together, they’ll uncover a case that has surprising and frightening connections to all three heroes’ shared history. Can they rescue the girl and solve the mystery of who she is? Read the new storyline to find out!
Let’s break this down. Batman and Green Arrow have teamed up many times in the past, and Green Arrow has actually appeared in Detective Comics before – even having his own stories starting with issue #521 in the 1980s. This new case they’re working on with Black Canary might connect to those previous appearances, but that’s just our guess. Right now, creators Tom Taylor and Pete Woods haven’t shared any specific details about the story.
Good news for Green Arrow fans: the character will still be featured in DC Comics for the time being. The recent Green Arrow solo series ended with issue #31 on December 24, 2025, largely due to low sales. However, Green Arrow remains a popular character, and it’s great to see him continue to appear in major storylines. It will be fascinating to see how writers Taylor and Wood develop Ollie’s role in this new story. Like Batman, Green Arrow is a wealthy individual who uses his resources to fight crime. But they also have differing beliefs, which could lead to interesting conflicts and a compelling narrative.
Detective Comics #1107 is set to go on sale March 25th.
