The last episode of Grace’s sixth season felt like a true ending at times, as it seemed to resolve the personal struggles and anxieties of John Simm’s character.
With the latest case closed, Roy was busy preparing for his wedding to Cleo. He received an unexpected surprise from his coworker, Nick, who revealed they’d discovered hospital footage from the day Roy’s wife, Sandy, passed away in Munich.
The video showed a man in hospital clothing – scrubs, a mask, and a cap – walking through the hallways. Although he tried to hide, a still image from the footage revealed him to be Albazi, the leader of the Benchdale gang. Albazi had been threatening Roy’s son, Bruno, and harassing Glenn’s family because Glenn was getting close to uncovering something dangerous.
Nick explained that the video evidence had been given to police in Munich, and this gave the lawyers prosecuting Albazi confidence they could win the case.
When they heard the news, the whole team cheered, and Glenn predicted that the entire Benchdale group was finished.
We then watched Roy and Cleo get married, surrounded by their friends and Bruno. The joyful reception felt like it could signal the end of Grace’s story, as Simm has often stated the show relies on a detective who isn’t truly happy.
Ultimately, the episode didn’t offer a satisfying conclusion. Instead of wrapping things up hopefully, it ended with a major cliffhanger, strongly suggesting the show needs a seventh season – even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Nick received a call during the wedding with news that a key member of Albazi’s organization had just arrived in the country. This individual had even managed to get a catering job at the very wedding Nick was attending in Brighton – meaning an Albazi operative was present at the reception.
As soon as Glenn heard the news, he alerted Roy. They rushed to find Bruno, but sadly discovered him after it was too late.
Bruno shared that someone attempted to kidnap him, but his dog, Cleo, bravely defended him. Unfortunately, the attacker then took Cleo and drove off with her in a van.
I was so worried when Roy couldn’t reach Cleo – he found her phone just lying outside where the event was held. Then, things got even worse. Roy got a call from Albazi, who’s in prison, and almost immediately after, he received a terrifying video. It showed Cleo, still wearing her wedding dress, tied up and with a gag in her mouth, inside the back of a van. It was awful.
Utterly defeated, Roy asked Albazi, ‘What do you want?’, as the episode cut to the credits.

It’s unclear how Roy and his team will escape this mess, if they’ll rescue Cleo, or how this impacts Albazi’s case. But one thing is clear: we need season 7 of Grace now!
