As a long-time admirer and follower of British television, I must admit that this Friday night will indeed be a tad peculiar for me, missing my weekly dose of The Graham Norton Show. However, I wholeheartedly support the noble cause behind this temporary hiatus – Children in Need.
On BBC One this coming Friday evening, things might seem a bit unusual for enthusiasts of the popular talk show hosted by Graham Norton, since there won’t be a fresh episode to anticipate.
Indeed, you’re correct! This week, there will be no fresh installment of The Graham Norton Show because it makes way for Children in Need‘s return to our televisions.
Although some might feel slightly let down since there won’t be any celebrities to entertain them on Fridays, rest assured that the legendary Red Chair will grace the scene instead.
During the specified evening dedicated to Children in Need, the program will feature a modified version of Graham Norton’s Red Chair. In this unique instance, a group of kids from various BBC Children in Need initiatives will have the power to determine the outcomes for some well-known personalities who strive to amuse them.
If they fail, though, both they and the chair will be tipped up.
The Graham Norton Show will return to our screens the following week.
Every year, I eagerly anticipate taking part in Children in Need, the UK’s most prominent charitable event, where beloved personalities unite to collectively make a difference by raising substantial funds for underprivileged children and youth throughout the nation.
This year’s Children in Need lineup features Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, and Vernon Kay. Additionally, Chris Ramsey, a popular stand-up comedian, and Lenny Rush will also be part of the event.
To start, let me share that I’m back as the host for another round – this is my second consecutive year. Truth be told, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm because I adore every moment of it! It’s a true privilege to be part of one of television’s most renowned events.
I can’t wait to witness the fantastic fundraising efforts once more, and how everyone pours their heart into each endeavor. I’m thrilled about being on stage to present. The anticipation is electric!
In addition to special episodes of Dragons’ Den, CBeebies Bedtime Story, and BBC’s Gladiators, fans of Doctor Who can look forward to an exciting bonus, as Ncuti Gatwa will unveil an exclusive sneak peek from the forthcoming Doctor Who Christmas special.
For fans of Doctor Who, it’s shaping up to be a significant event, as showrunner Russell T Davies once mentioned about the forthcoming Christmas special: “The Doctor is embarking on a new journey, and just as he often does, Christmas finds him! Here we are, approaching Christmas.
Progress has been made on this project, and let me tell you, it’s unlike any other Christmas special you’ve seen. It’s grandiose in scale, taking you to various unexpected destinations. And it provides a compelling narrative that delves into the essence of the Doctor when he’s by himself.
