Polyphony Digital recently revealed that the highly anticipated Spec 3 update for Gran Turismo 7 will be available on December 4th. This is exciting news, as it’s the biggest update so far for the four-year-old racing game. However, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi also announced that a new paid add-on, called Power Pack, will be released as well.
I’m so excited! The new update just dropped today, alongside Spec 3, and it lets you experience 24-hour endurance racing – it’s like having Le Mans in your living room, which is awesome! I just read on the PlayStation Blog that there’s a ton more too – 50 brand new races divided into 20 different categories, all inspired by car culture and racing from around the world. Seriously, it sounds incredible!
You can also experience complete race weekends, including practice and qualifying sessions, and race against Gran Turismo Sophy 3.0, Polyphony’s advanced AI opponent. While version 2.0 of Sophy was available for free to players who owned the base game, upgrading to version 3.0 will require a purchase.
As a final bonus, you’ll also receive 5,000,000 Credits, which are worth over $40, though you can also earn them while playing. Sony hasn’t announced the official price of the Power Pack yet, but it’s currently estimated to cost between $40 and $50. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
