Grimes is calling out ex Elon Musk.
As a longtime fan, I was really surprised to hear that Grimes – you know, the singer behind “Genesis” – said Elon Musk blocked her on X! Apparently, someone asked why she wasn’t following him anymore, and she revealed he’d blocked her. It’s just… unexpected. They share three amazing kids – X Æ A-Xii, who’s five, Exa Dark Sideræl, four, and little Tau Techno Mechanicus, who’s three – and I always thought they were on good terms, even after their split. It’s a bit sad to hear about this public falling out.
Grimes shared on X (formerly Twitter) on December 11th that she’s focused on her own life and doesn’t want to get involved in public disputes. She explained that someone followed and then blocked her, and she has no interest in reciprocating or engaging in back-and-forth actions. Her main concern is successfully co-parenting, and she wants to avoid any public drama.
She continued, “This is so silly lol.”
Grimes, age 37 (born Claire Elise Boucher), has openly discussed the difficulties she’s been facing with her family. She recently apologized to her fans for cancelling her performance at a World Pride event in Washington, D.C., explaining she needed to focus on personal family matters.
She apologized in a social media post on May 26th, saying she understood the situation had been frustrating for fans for a while, and she was committed to resolving it quickly.
Grimes has previously alluded to difficulties in her personal life, particularly regarding co-parenting with her ex, Elon Musk. Back in February, she publicly reached out to Musk – who has 14 children with four different women, including one with Grimes – to discuss a health issue concerning their child.
The artist posted on X on February 20th, asking for a response regarding a medical emergency involving their child. Screenshots shared by TMZ show the artist expressed frustration that the situation was being ignored and needed immediate attention, explaining they were forced to make the plea publicly.

She added, “If you’re unavailable to discuss this, please assign someone who can help us resolve it quickly. This is time-sensitive, Elon.”
The mom, who has three children, also responded to someone who asked why she shared such a personal issue online.
Grimes said she’s deliberately not sharing specifics, but her ex isn’t communicating in any way – ignoring texts, calls, and emails – and has missed all scheduled meetings. She’s deeply worried about the long-term impact this will have on their child and urgently needs him to get in touch. She feels she may have to make the situation public to get a response, and she’s prepared to do that if necessary.

Maye was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and moved to Pretoria, South Africa with her parents in 1950 at the age of 7. She separated from Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, in 1979.
Maye became a Canadian citizen by birthright shortly after Elon, her son, moved to Canada at age 17. She then built a successful career as a registered dietitian, eventually becoming President of the Consulting Dieticians of Canada, and also worked as a model.
After selling his company Zip2 for over $300 million in 2019, Elon Musk bought an apartment in New York City for his mother. She lived there for 13 years and continued her modeling work, even signing with the IMG Models agency.
In an essay for CNBC, Maye explained that she raised her children with the same values her parents instilled in her: independence, kindness, honesty, thoughtfulness, and good manners. She also emphasized the importance of hard work and doing what’s right.

Elon’s father is an engineer and like Elon, was born in South Africa.
In a 2015 interview with Forbes, Errol Musk mentioned frequently traveling the world with his children after his divorce—he stated, “Their mother and I split up when they were quite young and the kids stayed with me. I took them all over the world.” However, his relationship with his son, Elon, isn’t without its difficulties.
In a candid 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Elon Musk spoke openly about his difficult relationship with his father and his childhood. He explained that after his parents divorced, living with his father turned out to be a mistake.
However, Errol told Rolling Stone, “I love my children and would readily do whatever for them.”
After his divorce from Maye, Errol married Heide, who had a four-year-old daughter named Jana Bezuidenhout. Errol and Heide later had two daughters of their own, but they eventually separated as well.
After experiencing her own heartbreak, Jana contacted Errol. In a 2018 interview with The Sunday Times, Errol described them both as lonely and lost individuals who found each other. He jokingly suggested their connection was simply fate—or just a natural occurrence.
I’ve been following their story for a while now, and it’s been lovely to see them find happiness together. They fell in love and welcomed their son, Elliott, back in 2017, and then a little girl in 2019. Errol actually told The Sun that he believes the whole point of life is to have children, and he’d happily have more if he could! He really feels there’s no reason not to expand their family.

Born in 1972, Kimbal is a restaurant owner and created The Kitchen, a group of five restaurants that get their ingredients directly from local farms. He also leads Big-Green, a non-profit organization that has established 200 school gardens throughout the United States.
Tosca, a filmmaker born in 1974, created Passionflix in 2017. Passionflix is a streaming service designed for women and aims to capitalize on the popular and lucrative world of romance novels.

I’ve followed Elon’s story for years, and it’s always fascinating. He and Justine, who he met at Queen’s University, got married back in 2000. I remember reading Justine’s incredibly honest article in Marie Claire a while ago – it was called I Was a Starter Wife: Inside America’s Messiest Divorce. She shared something that really stuck with me: she said that during their wedding reception, while they were dancing, Elon told her, very directly, that he was going to be the one in charge – the ‘alpha’ in their marriage.
At the time, I didn’t think much of it,” Justine explained, “much like I later dismissed signing the postnuptial agreement. But it soon became clear that he was genuinely serious about what he said.
In 2002, Justine and her partner experienced a heartbreaking loss when their 10-week-old son, Nevada Alexander, unexpectedly passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). According to Justine, Nevada was put down for a nap on his back, as they always did, and simply stopped breathing.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always amazed by families! After initially needing IVF, this couple expanded their family in a big way – they were blessed with twins, Vivian and Griffin, and then, just a few years later, they welcomed triplets – Kai, Saxon, and Damian! It’s a beautiful example of how families grow in unique and wonderful ways.
In 2008, Elon filed for divorce.

In 2022, Elon Musk brought his children, Griffin and the triplets, to meet Pope Francis. Although he was pleased to meet the head of the Catholic Church, Elon jokingly described his outfit as a “tragic” suit.

In 2022, Griffin’s twin sister legally petitioned to change her name to reflect her gender identity. As part of this process, she stated she wanted to completely cut ties with her biological father.
In July 2024, Elon Musk publicly discussed his daughter’s gender transition. During an interview with Jordan Peterson for the Daily Wire, he stated he felt like he had lost his son, and described his child – whom he still referred to by her birth name – as having been affected by what he called the “woke mind virus.”
He claimed he was misled into signing medical papers that allowed Vivian to receive gender-affirming care.
Vivian disagreed with his claims, telling NBC News, “He wasn’t tricked at all – he was fully aware of the potential side effects.”
In a 2025 interview with Teen Vogue, Vivian shared that she moved from Los Angeles to Japan and hasn’t communicated with her father since 2020. She described him as immature, stating, “I’m not afraid of him, no matter how much money he has.”

Elon and Talulah, both known for their roles on HBO’s Westworld, got married in 2010. Talulah later told CBS News that things moved quickly—they were engaged after only about two weeks of dating.
The couple first divorced in 2012, then surprised everyone by getting back together and remarrying in 2013. However, they divorced again in 2016. More recently, in June 2024, Talulah married Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who is known for his role in the film Love Actually.

Elon Musk and Amber Heard began dating publicly in early 2017, following both of their divorces – hers from Johnny Depp and his from Talulah Riley (this was his second marriage). However, their relationship was short-lived.
In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Elon Musk revealed he had recently gone through a breakup. He said he was deeply in love and the split was very painful, adding that his girlfriend had initiated the breakup more than he had.

Elon Musk and the singer Grimes had an on-again, off-again relationship for four years, beginning in 2018. In September 2021, Musk told Page Six they were essentially separated, explaining that his work with SpaceX and Tesla kept him mostly in Texas or abroad, while Grimes’s work was centered in Los Angeles. At the time, he said Grimes was staying with him, and their son, nicknamed Baby X, was nearby.
In March 2022, she told Vanity Fair that they live in separate homes but remain close as best friends.
She later shared on Twitter that she and E had broken up once more, but they remain close as best friends and she still considers him the love of her life. She added that her life and work are now completely focused on ‘The Mission’.
In September 2023, it was revealed that the couple had three children. The singer confirmed this, naming their youngest child Techno Mechanicus, who joins older siblings X Æ A-12 and Exa Dark Sideræl.
In November 2024, Grimes shared that she had been involved in a year-long legal struggle in a state with unfavorable laws regarding mothers’ rights. This battle involved her Instagram posts and modeling work being used against her in a custody dispute, all while she was also separating from her partner and feeling as though he was changing into someone she didn’t recognize.
Despite facing significant limitations and only being able to use a small portion of her resources, she was separated from one of her children for five months. She explained that this was just the part of her story she could share publicly, as much of what she’s experienced in recent years needs to remain private.

In 2020, Elon Musk and Grimes had a son. They initially chose a unique name, but had to simplify the spelling to comply with California law, which only allows English letters. They ultimately named him X Æ A-Xii.
Grimes shared the meaning behind her child’s unique name on social media. ‘X’ represents an unknown variable, while ‘Æ’ is her elven-inspired way of spelling ‘AI,’ short for love and/or artificial intelligence. ‘A-12’ is a reference to the SR-17 aircraft, which she describes as incredibly fast, built for speed, and lacking any weapons or defenses – powerful in a fight, but ultimately non-violent.
Grimes continued, “A=Archangel, my favorite song” adding a rat and sword emoji. “Metal rat.”

Grimes shared in a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair that she and Elon Musk secretly had a baby girl through surrogacy.
She explained that ‘Exa’ comes from ‘exaFLOPS,’ a term used in supercomputing that means performing a quintillion calculations every second. And when they say ‘Dark,’ it simply refers to the unknown – something people often fear, but which is actually just the lack of light. Dark matter, she added, is one of the most fascinating mysteries in the universe.
Sideræl (pronounced sigh-deer-ee-el) is what my mom calls the universe’s actual time – based on stars and deep space, rather than Earth’s time. The name is also a reference to Galadriel, a character from Lord of the Rings, who chooses to give up the One Ring.
Walter Isaacson revealed in his biography Elon Musk that Exa was born in December 2021 via surrogate.
The book reveals that around Father’s Day in 2022, the couple, who had a fluctuating relationship, welcomed a son named Techno Mechanicus, but they call him Tau. The baby was born through surrogacy, and the book features a June 2022 photo of Elon feeding him.
Honestly, it breaks my heart to hear Grimes talk about this. She’s begged people – even the father of her kids – to just let them have some privacy, and she’s even tried going to court! She’s seriously worried about how being constantly in the public eye is affecting them, and she says she thinks about it every single day. It just doesn’t seem fair that there’s nothing she can do to protect them from all the attention. It’s just…crazy that she has no control over this!

In 2022, court records obtained by Business Insider revealed that Elon Musk had twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his company Neuralink. The twins were born in Austin, Texas, where Musk resides.
He also commented on the report via X, stating he’s trying to help address the declining birth rate, which he believes is the most significant threat to humanity.
“Mark my words,” he added, “they are sadly true.”
The 2023 biography of Elon Musk disclosed the full names of his twins: Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice.

Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis had their third child together on February 28, 2024. Musk confirmed the news in June, telling Page Six that while they hadn’t issued a formal announcement, it wasn’t a secret from those close to them. He explained that the lack of a press release didn’t mean they were trying to hide anything.
A year after opening, Shivon wrote on Twitter, “Happy birthday, Arcadia! I love you so much.”

The classic poem goes, “Roses are red, violets are blue,” and on Valentine’s Day 2025, conservative personality Ashley St. Clair had some news to share.
The author of ‘Elephants Are Not Birds’ announced on X (formerly Twitter) February 14th that she and Elon Musk had a son, named Romulus, after the founder of Rome. She explained that she had kept the news private to protect her child, but felt compelled to share it because the media was planning to reveal the information anyway, despite the potential harm to the baby.
She explained that she wants their child to have a normal and secure upbringing. Therefore, she requested that the media respect the child’s privacy and avoid overly intrusive reporting.
Following reports that her representative asked Elon Musk to publicly recognize his role as a father to their child, she claimed he had reduced the financial support he provides. This led Musk to respond to the accusations on social media.
He posted on X on March 31st, stating he’s unsure if he’s the father of the child, but is open to finding out. He also revealed he’s already given Ashley $2.5 million and continues to send her $500,000 each year.
She could have received even more money, according to an April article in the Wall Street Journal. It claimed that Elon Musk’s employee, Jared Birchall, offered Ashley $15 million plus $100,000 each month for child support if she wouldn’t discuss their child.
However, Ashley said she told him, “I don’t want my son to feel like he’s a secret.”

On February 28, 2025, Elon and Shivon announced the birth of their fourth child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus. They decided to share the news while celebrating their third child’s first birthday.
I spoke with Elon, and we decided to share some news about our amazing son, Seldon Lycurgus, especially with Arcadia celebrating her birthday. He’s strong and kind-hearted, and we love him very much, I wrote on X.
Elon responded with a heart emoji.
