Grogu, the popular character from The Mandalorian, is coming back in a new movie titled The Mandalorian and Grogu. However, creators have promised fans that one of his most recognizable characteristics will remain unchanged.
Grogu still won’t learn to talk like Yoda in The Mandalorian movie
Kathleen Kennedy, who has been a producer at Lucasfilm for many years, recently explained what to expect from Grogu in the next movie. She confirmed that the popular character won’t be speaking – so fans shouldn’t anticipate him starting to talk like Yoda.
Kennedy pointed out that Grogu is more effective as a character when he doesn’t speak. His appeal lies in his ability to convey feelings through expressions and reactions, connecting with viewers through silent moments rather than dialogue.
Kathleen Kennedy highlighted Grogu as a prime example of a character who conveys emotion and connection without uttering a single word, as she explained to Variety.
Kathleen Kennedy also promised fans that Grogu will maintain his adorable, quiet personality in the new movie. She believes audiences will love him even more on the big screen, despite him continuing to remain silent.
While at the Golden Reel Awards in Los Angeles – an event celebrating her career with a special honor – the producer discussed recent developments and highlighted how important sound design is to filmmaking.
Kennedey shared that he’s been fortunate to work with leading experts in the field, who taught him that sound is crucial to storytelling. They emphasized that sound shouldn’t be an afterthought, but rather carefully developed from the very beginning, as it’s essential to the story’s rhythm and impact.
