Gucci Mane was allegedly held captive during a harrowing experience.
Federal authorities announced charges against nine people in connection with a January kidnapping and robbery in Dallas. The victims were reportedly held at gunpoint at a music studio.
CBS News obtained a federal criminal complaint that identified musician Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, as one of the alleged victims.
According to authorities, nine people traveled to Dallas, Texas, with the intention of kidnapping and robbing individuals who believed they were attending a business meeting. Instead of a legitimate business discussion, the group allegedly used violence and threats to try and get what they wanted, according to U.S. attorney Ryan Raybould in a statement on April 2.
According to the Department of Justice, on January 10th, rappers Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) and Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.) allegedly took control of a business meeting – where a recording contract was being discussed – using weapons. The DOJ claims Shiesty then forced one of the people present to sign a release from the contract while being threatened with a gun.
According to the Department of Justice, while Big30 blocked the studio door to keep the victims inside, the other people involved in the crime reportedly used guns to steal Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other valuable possessions. One of the victims was also allegedly choked until they almost lost consciousness.
According to authorities, after the incident, several of the defendants posted pictures on social media that seemed to show the stolen goods.

As of April 2nd, the Department of Justice reports that eight of the nine people accused of federal kidnapping and robbery have been arrested. If found guilty, each could face a life sentence.
Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with Shiesty, right? And all this stuff is coming out, and I’m trying to find anything official, but his team totally ghosted Billboard! Like, wouldn’t even give a statement. It’s driving me crazy! I’ve even been digging for anyone who represents him or Big30, but it’s like they vanished off the face of the earth. I need answers, and it’s so frustrating they won’t talk!
In October 2024, Gucci Mane, who started and runs 1017 Records, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he would be letting most of his signed artists go, with only Shiesty and one other artist remaining under contract.
Pooh Shiesty was in prison after admitting to crimes involving guns and drugs in 2022. He was released in October, as reported by Fox12 Oregon and confirmed by his lawyer.
TopMob News has reached out to Mane’s rep for comment but hasn’t heard back.
