EA has revealed that they will be organizing several pre-release tests for Battlefield 6, giving players an opportunity to experience the new first-person shooter game before its official release in October. This guide aims to provide all the necessary information about the beta, including the start times for the first open weekend of Battlefield 6 beta and estimated server queue wait times during the Battlefield 6 beta testing period.

What Time Does the Battlefield 6 Open Beta Start?
The Battlefield 6 beta is happening across three distinct phases, two of which will be accessible to all players, regardless of whether they have a code or not. Pre-loading for the beta is currently open, allowing you to play it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App.
As we move forward in the beta phases, we’ll make sure to revise this article accordingly. The initial week of the Battlefield 6 open beta commences on the 9th of August (local time details are provided below).

How Long Will the Battlefield 6 Beta Server Queue Wait Time Be?
During the open beta phase of Battlefield 6, the game client is expected to see its highest number of users. Consequently, a waiting list (queue) has been established because the game servers are currently overflowing with players. Even if you find yourself in line behind tens of thousands of others, it doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get a chance to play at all.
EA is continually adding new servers to handle the growing number of players, so you should expect to join the Battlefield 6 beta within the next hour. However, please note that the exact waiting time may vary based on the number of active servers and the length of the queue, which could potentially extend or shorten the estimated wait time.
How Do You Get Early Access to Battlefield 6 Beta?
Update (1st August 13:00 BST):
Since the Battlefield 6 unveiling event has concluded, it’s unfortunate that Twitch Drops are no longer obtainable for an early access beta code. If you hadn’t engaged with Battlefield Labs prior to the event, there aren’t any alternative methods to secure a code at this time. You’ll have to wait until August 9th during Weekend 1 to play, unless Electronic Arts decides to distribute more codes in the near future.
To secure an early access code for Battlefield 6, you can either:
1. Have previously participated in the Battlefield Labs program prior to today’s announcement, or
2. Watch live streams on Twitch, where codes may be distributed as Twitch Drops.
So essentially, you have two ways to obtain an early access code for Battlefield 6: either by participating in the Battlefield Labs before today or by watching Twitch streamers for a chance at a Twitch Drop.
- All participants in Battlefield Labs from before today (31st July) get early access to the beta
- Watch currently live Twitch streamers to get an early access code in a Twitch Drop
As a gamer, if you’ve just finished watching the Battlefield 6 reveal event and were hoping to snag some Twitch Drops, I regret to inform you that they’ve run out. Unfortunately, that means we’ll all have to wait for the upcoming two weekends of full access. Even if you own the Phantom Edition, an early access beta code won’t be part of the package. Unless Electronic Arts decides to do a giveaway, it seems like getting an early access code might not be in the cards for now.
What’s Included in the Battlefield 6 Beta?
Over the course of the three phases of the Battlefield 6 beta, I’ll get the chance to explore a grand total of four game modes spread across four different maps. The majority of these modes will be available during the initial weekend, with the remaining ones being unveiled in the second weekend.
In Weekend 1 (9th-10th August), you’ll have access to:
- Maps
- Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, Iberian Offensive
- Modes
- Conquest, Closed Weapons Breakthrough, Domination, King of the Hill
In Weekend 2 (14th-17th August), you’ll have access to:
- Maps
- All maps from Weekend 1 + Empire State
- Modes
- All modes from Weekend 1 + Rush + Squad Deathmatch
