The year is almost over, but we’re not letting up on new releases. Actually, October is going to be a very busy month, especially!
You’re likely already aware of Ghost of Yotei (released now), but Battlefield 6 is coming very soon. Plus, later this month we’ll see the launch of Ninja Gaiden 4 and Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. And that’s just a small sample!
You’ll find all of the highlights below, but do remember to tell us what you’re buying and why.

Ghost of Yotei – 2nd October
When it comes to new games for the PS5, Ghost of Yotei is one of the biggest releases. This long-awaited follow-up to Sucker Punch’s historical open-world adventure will feature a brand new story, a vast open world to explore, and plenty of exciting new ways to play.
Taking place 300 years after the highly praised Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei is a self-contained story set in 17th-century rural Japan. Players follow Atsu, a solitary and troubled mercenary, on a quest for vengeance. She journeys across the stunning, challenging terrain of northern Japan, seeking out those responsible for the death of her family years ago.
It’s been sixteen years since I lost my family, and I’ve been following Atsu’s journey across Ezo ever since. She’s venturing into completely uncharted territory, hunting down a group of six outlaws. But honestly, it’s about so much more than just revenge. She discovers things along the way that are far bigger than she ever expected. I’m completely hooked!
As Atsu progresses on her adventure, she’ll meet surprising friends and form connections that are stronger than she ever expected. These relationships will be key to her success.
Battlefield 6 – 10th October
Following several unsuccessful launches, EA appears to be regaining its footing with Battlefield 6, a first-person shooter that has created a significant buzz since its public beta test earlier this month.
Experience the height of total war. Engage in intense infantry battles. Take to the skies in thrilling aerial dogfights. Destroy your surroundings to gain a tactical edge. With the Kinesthetic Combat System, you have full control over every move and action. In a war filled with tanks, fighter jets, and huge arsenals-your squad is the most powerful weapon. This is Battlefield 6.
However you define success, Battlefield 6 offers more paths to victory than ever before. Claim your triumph in classic, large-scale modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. Dive into quick, intense action with King of the Hill, Domination, and Payload. And with the redesigned Battlefield Portal, you can completely customize the rules of war. Battle across famous locations around the globe, including Cairo, Brooklyn, Gibraltar, and many more.
Ninja Gaiden 4 – 21st October
It’s been more than ten years since Ninja Gaiden 3, and now feels like the perfect time for Ninja Gaiden 4. Considering the acclaimed action game studio PlatinumGames is developing it, this is definitely a game to watch out for.
Relive the thrilling, fast-paced action that made NINJA GAIDEN a leading action game franchise.
This much-anticipated new chapter features a fresh main character, Yakumo, a remarkably talented young ninja. His destiny is closely connected to that of the famous Ryu Hayabusa.
Get ready for a classic series reimagined with stunning visuals and intense gameplay for a new audience. NINJA GAIDEN 4 offers adjustable difficulty and a personalized experience, challenging seasoned action game players while welcoming newcomers to become legendary ninjas.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – 14th November
It’s highly unlikely we’ll ever go a year without a new Call of Duty game, and 2024 is no exception. Black Ops 7 takes the series into a conflict set in the near future, continuing the storyline of David Mason, with a campaign designed for full co-op play. As always, you can also enjoy the standard multiplayer and Zombies modes.
With Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7, Treyarch and Raven Software are delivering the most intricate and surprising Black Ops experience yet. Players can expect a truly mind-bending adventure.
It’s 2035, and the world is nearing total disorder, torn apart by fighting and mind games. David Mason commands a highly skilled JSOC unit on a secret operation in the large Mediterranean city of Avalon. During their mission, they uncover a complex scheme that will not only cause worldwide chaos, but also force them to confront their own troubled histories. This discovery promises a dangerous journey into the past.
You can team up with friends or go it alone in a totally new Co-Op Campaign that really changes how you experience Black Ops. I’m talking seriously intense challenges in a bunch of different places – from the bright, neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the beaches of the Mediterranean, and even diving deep into… well, let’s just say some pretty strange places inside the human mind. It’s a wild ride, and you can choose how you want to play! Check out more details here.
As a huge fan, I’m so hyped about the multiplayer! It’s launching with a ton of content – 16 awesome 6v6 maps and even two massive 20v20 maps. Seriously, the variety is incredible. You’ll be battling across amazing locations, from a futuristic Tokyo to the really harsh, frozen landscapes of Alaska – every map feels packed with both danger and chances to make big plays. They’ve given us a really cutting-edge arsenal to play with, and the new Omnimovement system is a game-changer – it lets you really outsmart and outmanoeuvre your opponents. I can’t wait to jump in!
In Treyarch’s famous Round-Based Zombies mode, the horror starts when the normal world disappears. The team finds themselves stuck deep within the Dark Aether, thrown into a huge, constantly changing and terrifying environment. This isn’t simply about staying alive; it’s a journey into insanity.
