Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 Still on Schedule Despite Months of Silence

The major 2.00 update for Guilty Gear Strive was first revealed last summer at Evo 2025 and is expected to bring substantial changes to the game.

The main issue is we haven’t received any specific information yet. Arc System Works initially said version 2.00 would arrive sometime in 2026, but they haven’t shared any updates since then.

Good news! The long wait for an update is over. Producer Ken Miyauchi recently shared a quick message on social media confirming that version 2.00 is still progressing as planned.

We’re still on track with the Ver.2.00 update, so please be patient while we finish it and share more details soon.

Miyauchi went online to clarify patch 1.52, explaining it doesn’t change how the game plays. The update is simply to reflect a change in who publishes the game – Arc System Works has taken over publishing duties from Bandai Namco.

Version 2.00 is expected to be a major update for the game, as it’s nearing its five-year anniversary. This update will include two new playable characters, likely Robo-Ky and Jam, who have appeared in the game before.

Strive is still a very popular fighting game, but players have been hoping for some significant changes. Hopefully, update 2.00 will provide those improvements.

What features are you hoping to see in the next update to Guilty Gear Strive? And when do you predict it will be released? Please refrain from discussing instant kills in the comments.
